I'll take that. We were up against more than 11 yet again, and you just know that those incident that didn't fall in our favour would have fallen in theirs at the other end. That was actually our best display there under Klopp.

Neville moaning about Maguire's absence being influential to the result can fuck off. We are without 3 centre backs for the rest of the season, and the two guys signed in January to bolster our defensive options were both unavailable for this one too. The Glazers might have taken a shitload of money out of the club, but they have spent far more than practically everyone else in the last decade in particular. They are nowhere near the situation we found ourselves in when our previous American owners were bleeding the club dry.

As for their mutant fans, what can you say about a bunch of people that use the same barber as Phil Foden? That zombie scruff look is all the rage round there.

I'd love Leicester to grab 2nd and Villarreal to do them in the Europa final exactly what they deserve rats.

Mancs have Fulham and Wolves. They'll win both and get 76 points and 2nd. Hopefully 7 points ahead of us in their best season in years and our worst.

Wasn't sure if there was some head to head mumbo jumbo involved.

So, if we win all of our games, we can only be stopped if Leicester lose to Chelsea, then win their last game by a hefty margin.

For me if we win 3 to Leicester's 1 win and a defeat, it's hard to imagine their goal difference advantage will still be in place.

But it is clearly complex.

If we win the 3 games by only 1 and Leicester lose by only 1 to Chelsea, Leicester need to beat Spurs by 3.

Nominally, yes. But you cannot have two teams equal 4th and UEFA will expect 4 nominees for the CL. So the PL would be forced to have a play off between the two fourth placed teams with the winner getting the last CL spot.

If Leicester beat Chelsea then 3 wins does us.

If we drew 1 and won 2 and chelsea then won their last game after losing to Chelsea then we are in GD situation with Chelsea as we would both be on 67 pts.

Gonna be some mathematical gymnastics over next couple of weeks!

The 67 pts with chelsea scenario also could bring west ham into equation as they can still get to 67 with 3 wins...but they are about 10 worse off on GD at moment, so would need some real big wins.

It's typically amateurish that the PL haven’t set out agreed processes for ranking teams tied on points, GD and GS. Even if they just said " then head to head, then a play-off" it would look like they'd thought this through.

Then we just need to equal Chelsea's win margin on the last day.

Scenario last day if we win and draw our next 2 and Chelsea lose to Leicester:

Both teams would go into the game on 64 points.

We are currently +20 GD and would have had a win and a draw so would be +21 at worst

Chelsea are on +22 GD and would have lost to Leicester so +21 at worst.

We have scored more so if we equalled Chelsea's result we get 4th. They would be relying on beating City in the CL final to qualify.
