So what happens now then? LFC will be even more despised by Neanderthal opposition supporters and the general public.  The team still needs an overhaul in key areas all whilst still battling for 4th spot and against teams vastly richer than we are?

If reports are true that we got a massive pay bump from UEFA, the yanks have played a blinder, financially.

Not condoning it, but these FSG guys ain't mugs.

To have gone through all that for nothing makes no sense to me.

To have kept it away form everyone and coordinated the announcement like they did, makes no sense to me either...

Unless this was the plan all along.

Rinse UEFA and leave the Spanish and Italian cunts high and dry.

No wonder we had 6 PL clubs involved, and the only 6 to have pulled out like this.

All within a matter of hours of each other.

A sting of epic proportions, me thinks.

We’ve just lost a 300million plus sign on fee plus billions over X amount of Years.  All that for a supposed meek payoff in the grand scheme of things from Uefa for non existent FFP and just for Uefa and the PL to get there hands on huge proportions of the money we bring in to distribute into their banks accounts and cunts who dictate rules against the good of the game.

This was the only chance to sort FFP out and wrestle football back from the likes of Sky.

Back to crying over having no money to spend, VAR conspiracies, chest clubs in finals and everyone hates Liverpool/Scousers.

Oh and the Saudi’s buying Newcastle.

For al the reasons Alex K brilliantly outlined on the previous page, I was looking forward to UEFA being sidelined for all their corruption and greed over the years. Having a closed shop was no way to do it though.

Why not have the same format ( why was good) of two leagues of 10, but do it on merit ie top 4 from England, top 3 from Spain and Italy, top 2 from Germany & France, and then 6 other national champions through qualifying rounds.

Set up a separate body etc and allocate the funds between the Clubs involved with a 25% grassroots tax.

The only upside of the last few days  is exposing FSG for the greedy mercenaries they are  - no real difference to Hicks & Gillett...just better PR which our more gullible fans have fallen for over the years, assisted by FSG's complicit mouthpiece, The Echo.

Glad that whole farce failed but what are we going back to?

FIFA corruption. ‘Slave workers’ building stadiums for a World Cup in Qatar. UEFA Giving tiny ticket allocations to teams in their finals. Televised matches only on (Multiple different) costly subscription platforms. The youth being priced out of ticket sales. The elitist breakaway PL. Rich club domination. Corporate hospitality. £300K per week salaries. All this while dads and mums pick up dogs shit, broken glass and needles on parks so their kids can have a match on a Saturday.

Bollocks to the narrative that we have got the beautiful game back. That ship sailed long ago and will continue to gradually get further and further away.

For anyone wanting to read the article - Mundo Deportivo

Total commotion in the Super League, to which the Premier League clubs have dealt a critical, not fatal, blow. Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and United have decided to leave the idea of the Super League that they had all formed with Madrid, Barça, Atlético, Juventus, Inter, and Milan.

All the pressure that these clubs have received from England, in which they have faced rivals, organizations, and even their own footballers and coaches, seems to have been enough.

But it's not the only motive. Mundo Deportivo has learned that UEFA has played a fundamental role in that decision. Not because of the threats, but because he has offered a significant sum of money to the 'big six' for leaving the Super League, which seriously threatened his way of life.

This offer, however, has not reached Spanish clubs, which from the highest European body are seen as the main enemy, led by the ideologue Florentino Pérez.

Even so, from the Spanish teams, they see this departure of the Premier League teams as a step backward that is not definitive and they are convinced that the magnitude of the project will make them come back. There is tranquility in the surroundings of Barça and Real Madrid, aware that for the survival of all it is better to continue with the Super League.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are cheeky twats - them and Atletico are basically given a bye to get into the Champions League every year, whereas the English teams are scrapping and battling to get top four between about 6/7 teams.

It's the same with France - PSG can guarantee they'll be in it. The english clubs are at a disadvantage - and this is the problem the owners have.

Sky really do control the narrative. It was interesting from that point of view anyway. They whipped everyone into a frenzy, all newspapers, the government, royal family.

Now they'll switch it to something else. Job done, keep giving us your money plebs.

An interesting side note to all of this

Who is going to want to do transfer business with Liverpool now

For example, it's been speculated that Liverpool are interested in Leeds player Raphina

Even if Liverpool offered 100 million pound, Leeds might tell Liverpool to do one as we are now forever cast as one of the dirty dozen

At the end of the day, however, money talks and bullshit walks...

Martin Samuel, bring in legislation to Govern English football now!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-9493203/MARTIN-SAMUEL-battle-isnt-won-end-sordid-beginning.html#comments

Yes Martin, we've all said pretty much the same thing to prevent oil nations and dubious Russian oligarchs or any one else, using dubious money sources to run English football clubs to the detriment of others. But you're firmly of the belief an owner should be able to pump as much money, from whatever sources, into their club no questions asked.

Most people seem to think a football club should 'earn' the money it gets rather than be spoonfed billions of pounds to turn them from no marks into champions at home and abroad.

But when clubs rightly or wrongly want to generate more money via the actual sport itself, that's wrong and therefore needs legislation to stop it being attempted again?

You and your colleagues are now promoting the idea mansour and abramovic are the saviours of English football.

What a warped sense of proportion you have, Martin.

I posted this on this fat cunt's Wail or should that be 'whale's' page. But the cunt likes to censor comments on his articles so it appears the vast majority agree with him and therefore always has his finger on the pulse of fans. Instead, he's got his foot on their necks. I dont expect he'll post it either.

He hasn't got a Twitter page either so it seems Bluto doesn't like any form of criticism ?

Who'd have thought a guy who looks like a beached whale would be so thin skinned .

Neville singing Man City's praises last night. That's the level of his moral and political analysis.

So a club who had been with this plan every step of the way - and only backs out when there's an uproar - are heroes. Never mind their already dubious ethical record.

Sums this country up.

And Henry‘s apology...

Looking forward to the sarcastic comments.

The words are good/acceptable/necessary. Time will tell if words are all they are though.

We need to see actions that back any words up and these need to be the right ones, delivered in a timely fashion.

It’s been a fuck up of epic proportions, not sure if there’s any way back for FSG from here but let’s see what the next few weeks and months bring.

Henry needs to imagine he's been caught fucking the maid by Linda and the only way back into the good books is to spend, spend, spend and buy lots of pretty things.
