So as it stands we can never win Big Ears again. We can never participate or win the European Cup/Champions League again. The history of our football club is based on those iconic European nights, and they are now no more. I was in Madrid and will never be able to replicate nights like that again. That’s what FSG have signed us up too. I hope they rot in hell.

Tory cup and picket lines....Some of the phoney socialists on here make me laugh. Ooh Shanks was a socialist so so am I, probably the same cunts who wanted Dubai to take over from the cancers and who would celebrate every trophy won if an oil state ever did get their hands on us one day.

No better than Bluenoses with their phoney Corinthian bollocks. Footy died years ago stop pretending otherwise.

PSG will clearly be part of this, the only reason they haven't joined so far is The World Cup is Qatar and they don't want their players banned from it or evening the competition being stripped from them.

And there in lies the problem, UEFA have allowed countries become football clubs, the traditional big clubs have had to bring 2 extra seats to the table, Newcastle where pulling up a chair and ready to take one of their spaces. John Henry, The Glazers, Angelli and all have to be expected to protect their assets, the body assigned to do it has failed miserably. FSG have an asset worth a couple of billion, Saudi Arabia buy Newcastle, Bahrain buy Everton and Oman buy Leeds and all a sudden FSG own a club that's can't qualify for the CL and will never win the domestic title.  I think its shit but I can understand them wanting to have more control than they have now.

This shit show wouldn't have been necessary if FFP had been enforced properly.   Did UEFA and the Prem really expect the established clubs whose fan bases generate most of the cash which fuels the whole filthy business to sit back while oil  states and oligarchs waltz in and sweep up the prizes? FSG are on record saying how important a factor FFP was in their decision to buy the club and now a few years later they're expected to compete with sport-washing countries and money launderers.

The Man would be turbo spinning. Greed and Thatcherism at it's absolute best. Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm done with it all.

Bill wouldnt have been happy paying 40 odd million quid for a player never mind nearly 70m for a keeper, 75m for a centre half and paying players 200 grand a week. But loads are complaining we arent giving a current player 200 grand a week to sign a new contract and want the club to sign more 50m+ players.

Big business and Big commerce keeps on rolling. I became desensitized to this during the financial crisis of 2008/2009.

I became absolutely and totally numb to this while we all had bigger fish to fry this last year. We still do.

I yearn for my first Liverpool "Hitachi" away shirt when days seemed so much simpler. It's a different animal now folks. I totally understand traditionalist thinking. I wish we were back then too. But its a different world.

Roll with it. We can't stop it. But we have a choice to persevere or walk away. Whether this thing flies or not, I think most of us with introspection, arrived at this juncture of choice before today.

Couldn't agree more. I've been sick of it for ages mate. Just had enough now. End of an era for me .

If we we’re talking about our industrial heartlands being turned into retail parks, Tory cut backs destroying the very fabric of society or just general chit chat of Tory cuntery I’d be right by your side comrade but this is English football that sold it’s soul 30 years ago and we’ve all played a part in it. Played by millionaires owned by billionaires they don’t care about us and haven’t for fucking years. Too late to be crying about it now boys.

I think some owners, and FSG would have been high up that list, would still have pushed for something like it eventually even if FFP had been properly enforced.

They may have found it a lot harder to get support from enough other clubs for it to go anywhere though.

No, 15 clubs are always in it and 5 others are rotated in and out based on performance. Liverpool would be in it permanently.

Ugh. To be honest, that sounds far less appealing.

what if the PL kicks the breakaway clubs from the PL, which they they could,  what then.

Can't see them cutting off their noses to spite their face. Without "The Big Six" the Premier League would find it hard to negotiate massive sponsorship and rights packages.

The main issue would be the devaluation of the Champions League and the lack of need to qualify for Europe. Why go balls out for fourth if you are already guaranteed.

Not a chance, same as those claiming they'll kick them out of Europe.

What do you think the Sponsers and TV rights holders say when you tell them that Liverpool, Utd, City, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal will be replaced by Watford, Norwich, Swansea, Brentford, Bournemouth and Barnsley.

Say goodbye to your TV deal and sponserships
