They shouldn't.

Because we should revert to a knock out European Cup where only the champions of each European country compete with all clubs getting equal TV revenue.

This is true, but that idea flew the nest decades ago. I don’t see this as much more than the next step in the evolutionary trajectory European football has been following in that time; UEFA devalued their own UEFA Cup to ensure bigger audiences and more money for the top competition, and so it is that said competition is on the cusp of being usurped in the pursuit of bigger audiences and more money.

From memory , the last effort at Super League was the only top level football organisation suggesting the lower leagues should be guaranteed the funds they were requesting , hence Parry's support. It was the holier than thou clubs like Everton and Villa that were against it , and were demanding Parry's removal.

That’s okay, they’ve a much better chance of qualifying for Europe regularly if six clubs don’t take their CL spots. The CL becomes, in terms of prestige, a sort of deluxe Europa League and the Europa, fuck knows, but there’ll be a European place for whoever wants one. The likes of Everton should be secretly thrilled by this, which is really just the next step in the evolution of where the game has been headed since the European Cup stopped being reserved exclusively for league champions.

If this goes ahead, the CL & EL will be scrapped.

Have to laugh about Gary Neville and Sky using fans as a leverage to how bad this is for football when only in 2019 we had to play Leicester away on Boxing Day for an 8pm kick off or playing Man City at 17.30 on New Years Eve in 2016

They’ve never ever given a shite about fans and never will, this Super league will probably never happen but after the way rival fans thought it was hilarious how we might miss out on a title last season thanks to a killer pandemic then fuck em, I’m  not arsed one way or the other

Yup. Add in all the ‘murderers’ and ‘wall pushers’ shite we get, not just from Everton but from no-marks like Wolves and Villa, they can go and fuck themselves.

All those no marks will be fucked without the PL riddled with debt no sponsorship money coming in. they despise us but without us and the likes of City,Utd,Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs they probably would exist for long.

He's right though isn't he. Take away his personal interests and the anti-Liverpool bias (he's a manc, of course he's going to use any opportunity to stick the fork in) I agree with everything he's saying. There's a lot of things wrong with the game at the moment but this isn't a solution and only serves the greedy fucking twats ruining the game we love for their own self interests.

That's it, I'm in.

He's the consumate populist....probably got a message off his strategy team that this is a good one to be seen to be against.

Prior to that he wouldn't have any interest in it at all.

What does Klopp think about a super league from 2019.

He told Kicker : "I hope this Super League will never happen

"With the way the Champions League is now running, football has a great product, even with the Europa League

"For me, the Champions League is the Super League, in which you do not always end up playing against the same teams

"Of course, it is [financially] important, but why should we create a system where Liverpool faces Real Madrid for 10 straight years?

"Who wants to see that every year?”

I mean opinions are clearly divided on this issue. But, it has to be noted that while samuel, neville, sky and even the fans against the clubs proposals seem to forget UEFA wanted to increase the number of CL games by 100 and have certain 'top' European clubs forever in the revamped CL.

Considering the clubs are proposing a European league with fewer games, it's amazing the shit stirring that's going on in the sports media. These same journos stoking the flames are all very happy to enjoy hospitality offered by clubs at home and abroad pre covid travel restrictions.

Im just wondering why arent they taking a neutral stance for now at least,  rather than coming out with the hyperbolic bullshit they are?

Everton and Moshiri must be shitting themselves being potentially left out of this. They are massively dependent on tv money with almost 80 per cent of their outgoings being wages. They've only really stayed afloat because of the money he's put in.

Plus they've committed to a new stadium that could  more than £600m. They've virtually got no European pedigree as well. The likes of Ajax, Porto, Benfica, Celtic etc at least play regularly in European competition.

Virtually?

When you strip it all back it all just comes back to ££££'s. The game sold its soul a long time ago now.

Everything else in game including fans is just at ££££'s mercy.

The greed is just becoming more endemic and deep rooted and the gluttonous desite to get a slice of the cake growing and spreading.

More noses in a deeper trough full of more shite.

Clandestine. Devilish. Cross really enjoying himself.

If, what he is saying from the club’s perspective is true, I can see their logic.

Why should UEFA take such a share of the CL profits?

Why aren’t clubs consulted on FFP?

Why aren’t clubs consulted on international calendars?

On the back of the pandemic, clubs are taking all the risks & it doesn’t sound like UEFA are helping clubs.

Then take it away from UEFA, I don’t know the answer to this, does the Premiership make money? Does the same apply to them helping clubs? Are clubs benefiting from extra TV revenue?

If clubs want to get back in the black, it sounds like this break away is a sure fire short cut.
