The plan is obviously to close them down and harass them, which Mane, Firmino, Milner are better equipped to do than Thiago and Jota.

Without our two fast CB's, pressing becomes more difficult. I fully expect Thiago to be much more effective once we've got some pace back in our backline.

Feel the same.

Even if we get through tonight I don't see us getting past Chelsea the way we are playing and getting twatted by City in the final is a god awful thought. Just don't think we have the form or ability to keep the clean sheets needed

Yeah, that’s where I am, best to put this season asleep as humanely as possible

Has Thiago done anything to justify being in a team that has to score at least twice tonight?

He has zero participation in goals for us so far.

OK our midfield generally hardly sets the world on fire in that respect, in fact it is lets face it is much much more about muscle and work than it is about creativity and goals, but lets not pretend in Thiago we are leaving out some creative force, because we aren't.

Thiago should 1 million percent be playing in this type of game, regardless of our tactic. That he isn't makes it ridiculous to sign him in the first place. We don't have to handle him with kid gloves and play him "when we've got some pace back in our backline". Might as well not play him ever if that's the problem.
