The starting eleven should have started in Madrid, Milner provided bite and leadership for the first 60 minutes.
I thought the ref was good..... if that had been Tierney of Friend out there there would have been a dozen more fouls against us.
Big Nat was good too

By the way, I can only agree now with the people who said we shouldn't have signed Thiago. We clearly have/had absolutely no plan for him and not starting him in either of these games is a complete pisstake for a player like him.

Klopp has made a big mistake there unless he proves he has a single inkling of how to play with him next season.

Yea, most of us pointed out he was a luxury player after his 2nd game for us. Wrong player in the wrong team at the wrong time. It won't work out for him under Klopp; best to cut our losses and move him on ASAP.

Yeah, ref was fine. Night and day between domestic and European officiating.

He doesn't fit our style, tempo or spirit.

Mind you, not many do any more.

We'd probably get our money back for him so move him on.

You'd think when a world class manager signs a world class player, you can count on both of them figuring it out. Clearly, that isn't happening. There is no way we sell him, though. We could sell the whole midfield, bar Fabinho, Henderson and Jones at this point.

Yes. Clearly a very good footballer but utterly unsuited to our game from what I’ve seen so far. It happens.

Jones is nowhere near ready. He needs at least one full season somewhere else.

Nope, I think people are far too lenient on our front three.  If they scored goals then the Thiago thing isn't a thing.  Also Wijnaldum, he's been utter shite.

A well deserved elimination.

Nothing to complain about, defence and midfield did their job. The attack, not for the first time this season, was absent.

We have a number 9 devoid of any creativity and imagination which are supposed to be his main assets, and to add to his misery he can't even shoot at an open goal.
And next to him, 2 attackers who need what at least 4-5 clear cut chances for them to score one.
No complaint, Madrid did their job and they are through.
