My dad Martin turns 70 tomorrow (Sunday 21st March). If you don't know, he and this forum have a bit of history, below are some threads on his back story if you don't know it. 

 

Anyway, he is a bit lonely nowadays, losing touch with friends and this has been compounded by the coronavirus. Therefore I'm thinking a plethora of messages might do the trick to make him feel special on his birthday, so all I ask is for you to send him a text message, the quirkier the better! 

 

He loves Spike Milligan, Monty Python, Vic and Bob, The Beatles so maybe a quote. I have been asking him which bands and albums he prefers with all these tournaments, so you could ask who is better, Pink Floyd or the Kinks for example (think he'd go Kinks on this one). He probably doesn't know my username on here so perhaps don't reference me as Remmie but as Zeb should you feel it necessary. I call him Papa Gringo or Senor Pappy, though maybe that only works as I am his son?

Unlike me Papa Gringo is a raging northern Pro-beaner, there is a video on my second link with me asking him and you can feel my disappointment. Think you'd get on famously with a political chinwag, cut from the same cloth.

I've been out with dad around some old haunts and we got back a little while ago and had some cake and champagne. His battery died as he has had a lot of calls today so don't think he's seen the majority of your messages yet. To be honest I'm not sure if he will reply as he only has one working hand due to having a stroke so it's difficult for him, but he's might remember to use siri. 

 

I could tell plugging his phone back in he got a lot of messages so thank you all so much
