We can’t carry on like this.

These are harsh times and the spirit of the city and club infact both clubs is quite communal compared to most cities. We've got so many points over the last few years its only right we started to share some out, Everton have been doing it for years. It's a philanthropic year.

This thread is a shitfest.

Deffo problems at LFC right now. Probably not one single thing that's easy to fix - more likely to be multiple things. But no-one better placed than Jurgen to deal with it.

Yeah - forums are good for discussions but some of the bollocks spouted in here is pure speculation and isn't helpful to the club.

You are giving oxygen and credence to those opposition and media idiots who have an agenda and would like Klopp gone.

All we need to do is have his back.

Last season we didn't have many injuries. This year we have and we haven't reacted well to them both on and off the field.

If Jota had got injured in a game that we needed to get a result from then so be it, but it was stupid to risk him and Salah in a meaningless game. Especially considering Klopp was heavily slating the fixture schedule at that point. We should have played the kids in that one and left the first team at home. Jota wasn't just our 4th choice either, he was pushing to take the place of either Mane or Firmino at that point.

I think there are a number of problems. We lack a voice and leadership without VVD, Henderson or Milner, and Milner looks to be really struggling with the pace of the game now.  TAA and Robertson don't look the same players without the defensive shield in the centre and both are better going forward than they are defensively.

I do completely understand your point, but these players want to play in the CL, like they want to play for their countries. You can't just put out kids and of course there's a couple of mil on the line for a win. Klopp wanted a centre back, I assume money was important.

As for Jota pushing mane and firmino, yes he was. But he hadn't replaced them, so he was 4th choice.

He played 10 league games and 5 other games.  Those numbers don't justify the transfer fee and wages a top CB would command.

The gamble was that van Dijk, Gomez and Matip would not have significantly more absences than last season and that Fabinho and Phillips could offer backup. At the time, it didn't seem too risky. It was more important to reinforce the midfield and the front three.

Philipps wasn't supposed to back up, he was supposed to leave which is why he wasn't in the CL squad for the 1st half of the season. We went in to this season with fabinho 4th choice and billy fucking koumetio as 5th choice, which lasted till he fucked alisson in training.

I'm happy to have Klopp's back but he needs to throw us a fricking bone. We need to attack and create chances and score goals. Period. We can't be the team that recycles the ball, does fuck all with it and gives up chances due to our pointless high line when we aren't even pressing that hard.

Klopp needs to show everyone that he hasn't been "found out" tactically and he needs to show that in the next premier league game.

Why do we persist with the high line, whats the point in making the pitch smaller to make it easier to press if we can't or won't press. We lay traps for ourselves. We're like sideshow Bob walking on the garden rakes. Because it's the same shit all our responses are the same repeated shit, look at fan forums, podcasts YouTube videos they're all tired of having to repeat the same shit because what else can they do we are repeating the same mistakes over and over again.  We can still be 100 percent behind klopp and say come on pull your fucking finger out we need something here. We're desperate for a reaction.

That is certainly what our recent run of games has felt like.

Doesnt matter what Jurgen does if some players are no longer doing as he and the coaching staff tells them.

I simply dont believe Jurgen says to the players in team meetings or at half time 'Listen boys. I want you to play a really high line. Never drop back, never vary your positional play. Do it my way and only may way or else' etc.

But if some players are just going through the motions and not giving 110% or are physically and mentally burnt out, any team plan is going tits up.

Part of his job is to make sure players follow instruction and if they are purposefully ignoring him he needs to sort that shit out. I honestly don't see these deputy defenders defying instruction though. If players are physically and mentally burnt out then its absurd to play the high risk high reward football because it just leaves us high risk and nothing else. There's obviously loads of factors involved but these results and performances are nowhere near acceptable we can pussyfoot about it because we love Klopp but that's the truth this is shit, everyone is doing shit, honestly just going again must burn the players heads out too and the players not being up to it burning Klopps head out. Change shit up give players something to focus on rather than just go through the motions.

Frustrating to fuck, we've nothing to lose by changing our play because we are losing to shite teams almost everytime we play now anyway, it's almost like self sabotage at this point.

Maybe he did do something about it yesterday but then all you hear is this 'what the fuck shit team is that?' 'Dont ever play Fabinho at CB ever again oh and Rhys and Nat are fucking Championship plays' blah, blah, fucking blah.

All some people do is keep blabbing on about fucking 'high lines' and 'drop back 10 yards' like there's some magic fucking line drawn on the pitch that moves with the play.

Saw some shit on BBC sport about Klopp making 7 changes to try and end our poor run. We have a game in the Campions League that he was likely saving players for but that didn’t get mentioned. Just that his changes failed. Then Guardiola making a comment that great teams challenge the season after they have won the league, like his has in the last 5 years, conveniently leaving out the fact they were nowhere in sight last season.

We are going through a poor time and have been since before Christmas, even though we were top, but the one thing I detest is all the sniping at Klopp and this team, who not so long ago were so far in front of the pack that it was embarrassing, for them not us.

We could do with a bit of siege mentality both in the dressing room and amongst us all and start telling them all to fuck off, because all I believe they’re trying to do is cause Klopp to leave one way or the other, before we get back on the bike and start riding off again.

that team selection suggested we have given up on top 4, it didn't indicate winning the game on the day was important. but i remember a similar thing people slagging us earlier in the season when we got beat by atalanta despite us smashing them a week or so before meaning klopp could play a league cup team (which that was pretty much yesterday)

I hear a lot about the loss of Van Dijk and Gomez and Matip impacting on the team.

But for me, Gary, there's two names Liverpool have missed much more this season.

I wonder why that's all people are doing when we've watched the same game play out for months on end . There essentially is a line on the pitch that moves with play its made up of players.

You do realise that this is a thing? and a very important thing to the way we play? We compress the pitch so teams give up chances from sustained pressure. We are still playing that way but without the pressure and the right personnel. So it makes sense to tweak the game plan doesn't it, as teams keep picking us off on the break because they get time on the ball.

I wouldn't have played Neco Williams yesterday. I would have stuck with Trent, Robbo, two centre backs.

Fine for Rhys and Nat, at least they are centre halves. But I would have put Fabinho in midfield and not sub if you were gonna go with that.

Hendo and Fabinho should never touch centre back ever again.

Fabinho, next to another senior centre back (one of the three, ideally VVD or Matip), with Henderson in front, is fine.

We still need a permanent fourth to hopefully avoid it happening though.

That set up sent us 5 points clear at the top, 6 clear of City.

Everything went to shit the second Matip got injured versus West Brom.

Seemed to be the straw that broke the camels back in the players minds.

We could easily have gone in 3 or 4 up at half-time in that game and that was the deepest lying defence I've ever seen come to Anfield. But that's when we played with pace and tempo.

Klopp even went 442 yesterday in the 2nd half. He also tweaked the formation vs Sheffield Utd which prompted some good analysis on MNF by Carragher. Trent played from right back similar to the way Cancelo does for City, joining up occasionally with midfield and then forming a back 3 when needed.

We also played a 442 diamond vs West Ham and 442 vs City earlier in the season. But these things get ignored by the "Klopp never tries any thing different" mob.

Granted, maybe he needs to change it up more often, but when he does change it up, these cunts here then moan about too many changes or that he didnt make the specific changes they are 100% guaranteed would have worked. Ridiculous behaviour.

My only contribution to this debate is to say to everyone - it doesn’t fucking matter and none of this is real.

The old philosophical question “if a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound” springs to mind.

if footballs being played but you can’t go to a match, can’t watch it in the pub, and don’t get to socialise with friends or chat to people at work about it, did it fucking matter?

I found myself getting pissed off at how we were playing earlier on in this run, but I’ve found it very, very easy to not give a fuck these last 3 or 4 weeks or more because it’s literally only myself that I have to convince.

so with that, I’ll get back to enjoying the match when I’m able to start going again - or at least going to the pub with my old man, my missus or my mates.

and if anyone gets their knickers so much in a twist that Klopp gets booted before I’ve had chance to sing his name from my seat on the Kop they can fucking do one.

Klopp was widely considered one of the top two or three managers in the world before this nose dive we're having. He couldn't have turned crap overnight. I would give him the rest of the season plus next season to turn it around, along with the funds he needs.

If the stupid tight pussies, FSG---who I hold more responsible for our sudden decline than Klopp---  cannot make any exception and give this manager money, then they should sell up. I don't care, after this, who owns us as long as we are enabled to compete with the best in this league.

Klopp is still one of the best 2-3 managers in world football, he just can't coach his way out of a mid-table Championship defense.

To be fair to him, it's a totally impossible task that no one could possibly do.

The most disappointing thing about all of this has been people seemingly getting tired of blaming our results on all our injuries, and moving on to other things, Klopp included ... despite the huge problem with all our defensive injuries still being there.

The problem is not Klopp, the problem is not the front 3, it's not the midfield, it's not the lack of fans. The main problem, responsible for at least 80% of our problems, is that we don't have any fit central defenders who are Premier League-level players.

I think the vast majority of fan see this, it doesn't mean we agree that we've handled it well. Different fans will have different theories and solutions and they're allowed to discuss them whether they're bullshit or not. As for changing the formations yeah we've seen tweaks, certain players holding positions instead of running on, minor changes but we haven't at any point seen a systemic change, were still trying to make the pitch smaller but barely pressing taking away any advantage it gives us. It's perfectly normal for fans to say why dont we try something we haven't and it could end up being tried and be a disaster the point is whenever there are problems people will throw forward solutions even ridiculous ones.

If we had no injuries none of this would be getting discussed but we have got injuries and we have been shite not just a bit shite but extraordinarily shite by how predictable we are, that's been the death of us the predictability opposition managers are basically saying before a game how they will beat us. Dont tell  me that before a game people haven't thought this is how this game will go or 20 minutes into a game thinking we ain't scoring today.  People aren't just going be like that dog meme sitting in a burning house. Everything isn't fine so people are talking about it.

100 percent behind Klopp. Its a season where we've been dealt the shittiest hand though I think we've played it and dealt with it badly especially some of the players but for klopp I dont expect flawless perfection but I've no doubts he's the perfect manager for us.

The amount of so called fans I see around the internet that are all too happy to stick the knife into Klopp and the team during this run is astounding. The logic of "can't blame the defensive injuries when we're not scoring goals" shows a pretty large lack of understanding the way we've played over the last 3 years whilst also ignoring the fact that just a month or so ago our preferred CB pairing was our two best midfielders, who got shifted there because of said defensive injuries. The entire spine of the side has been ripped out essentially except for Allison, Gini, and the front 3. Robbo and Trent aren't hurt but one is dead tired and Trent's probably had his worst season since becoming a mainstay. He's also always been a bit on the suspect side defensively but that's not been an issue when Hendo, Fab, and a premiership caliber CB are all around to cover for him. I'm not sure there's a team out there besides City, PSG, and maybe Bayern who could deal with such a ridiculous injury crisis and still hope to compete over the course of a league season, and I'm not sure PSG even counts as the french league is trash.

It's one thing to have a moan and suggest we try different things, expressing opinions is the point of having a discussion so that's fair enough. It's another thing entirely to give into the media bullshit and start insinuating Klopp is on the hot seat or has lost the dressing room.

The fact that professional pundits and journos are also largely ignoring the giant fucking elephant in the room now is another story entirely but not surprising. The vast majority of them are loving kicking us whilst we're down and it gives some of them the opportunity to come out with a "this is who Liverpool should buy" or "How I would fix Liverpool's problems" story. Nevermind that if they were competent enough to fix our problems they wouldn't be sitting in a fucking chair on the tele or writing stories for their respective websites either.
