However, i very rarely watch a blu ray now (despite owning loads of them) because streaming is just so good.

I still watch DVDs. I see Kodi mentioned in the ‘Rate the last TV show you watched’ thread but have no idea what it is. I have Freeview and can use iPlayer and ITV Hub, that’s it.

Yeah I love DVDs, there's still loads of stuff you can't get on streaming services, or if you can they go off after a few weeks. You need your favorite films to hand at all times.

Don't say that to Tony mate. He'll turn the bath taps on and sit on the toilet waiting for Ben-Hur to come on

I hate the keyless start button on my girlfriends car and just absolutely cannot get used to the fact that it doesn't have a proper handbrake.

When I bought my last car about 18 months ago I purposely avoided the keyless versions. Have we got so lazy we can't even turn a key? And how about the lack of security it causes? You'll probably hear of people starting their microwaves and unlocking and starting their car for thieves to happily drive away.

I actually heard a true story of a woman opening here car with her fob outside her house, forgetting something(surprise, surprise!) and then seeing thieves drive away her car because she'd opened it for them and it had a keyless start up.

Agreed, fuck all that. The thought of the car being 'hacked' is pretty scary.

The car wouldn't start unless the key was in close proximity to the car so I'm not sure that happened.

What probably happened is that she opened the car and left the fob in it, similar to leaving keys in the ignition.

I remember a girl in our work did similar to this, came into work at 8am, left at 1pm for lunch out to the carpark where her car was sat with the engine still ticking over, lights on etc.

We went to Mexico a few years back and I forgot to pick up my phone before we went. When I got back two weeks later I only had two messages , both from Virgin saying my minutes and data had been rolled over.

My old boss did that.  Him and his Mrs both agreed to take only one phone. Both thought the other one was doing and neither did

When he got home he found out his father in law had died the day after they left and had been in the morgue for 13 days

Well,it was right outside her house so most likely she did.

The office pool car is keyless entry and keyless go. First time I used it, I pulled up at B&Q and got out expecting it to do all that switching off and locking by itself. After all, it had unlocked itself and started without me doing much. Came back after 20 minutes in the shop: car door was still unlocked and the engine had been running all that time. I couldn't even find the handbrake.

I love a good hill start with a manual car. I’m really good at it, soon to be a lost art.

In late 80’s I was a pizza delivery driver and had a ‘79 Honda Civic and the starter went on it. Luckily the shop was basically on the top of a decent incline. I’d roll the car out of the back parking lot and then down the incline and off I’d go. I loved that car.

Hang on, what? It doesn't have a proper handbrake?

It doesn't have a proper pull up lever handbrake by the gearstick, instead it has a handle on the right hand side of the steering wheel that you push in to put the handbrake on and pull out to take it off. It's all kinds of wrong.
