Big Sky

 

Her voice on Big Sky is magic. To be fair the whole of Side 1 is impeccable.

 

And Rubber Soul - what could be said about it other than monumental. Again, another Beatles contender for greatest album ever recorded, with In My Life possibly Lennon's greatest song. The original lyrics were interesting, referencing Penny Lane and the Docker's Umbrella.

It hasn't got a chance in hell of doing anything here, but I'm re-listening to Oxygene now and it still sounds absolutely majestic and so much fresher than any album recorded 45 years ago has a right to sound. Oxygene Part IV is probably the definitive synthesiser track until the end of all time.
