18 months ago, I never thought I'd choose an early night and a good night's sleep over a champions league game.

Now, it's an easy choice.  Mainly cause it isn't the champions league, it's another empty kickaround that means next to fuck all other than money.

Tell Jurgen the plan worked. The losses got rid of Grinch off the match threads so we could get back to winning.

Great result, though I'm not sure there's a big improvement here just yet - they played high, played off us, and gave the ball away to allow us to score.  Despite the acres of space we had to play in, we didn't create many good chances.  I'll be very happy when I see us able to unlock tight defences.

Take that, Harvey Leipzig!

Much better that. Hopefully the clean sheet will help Alisson get a bit of confidence back. Plus, Kabak seems to have shrugged off any after effects of the mistake against Leicester. A good performance from him tonight.

One minor gripe, we're still not creating that many chances. The two goals today came from Leipzig's sloppy play. But, 2 away goals and an away clean sheet make my gripe more of a minor afterthought. You can't ask for much more out of a European away game.

My behind stream just finished, get in boys. A very good performance after all the shit thrown at the boys recently. Mind you, having decent ref and VAR not fucking us over helps. Two lovely taken goals and it's nice to see oppos fucking up and giving us the chances.

Everyone put in a shift tonight. Bring on the blueshite.

Better. Much better.

Always feel we will have more joy v a team who try and attack us - but still overall better.

We were sloppy after going 2 up though, gave it away too much and i just expected the bastard net to bulge at the death when that Huang did Hendo - 2nd time in game he was badly exposed.

Alisson's kicking was dreadful all night - but apart from those gripes it was much, much better - still a long way off being really good, but a step in right direction.

A much needed result, a bit of confidence back hopefully and something to build on.

And of course in a very good position to make quarters now.

Delighted with that, hopefully a springboard for us. Kabak, Trent & Jones were quietly brilliant and great to see Allisson back to the player we know and love. Mané was phenomenal, rumours of his demise were greatly exaggerated and Mo is just world class.

Well in reds, now let’s embarrass these weapons on Saturday.

"Maybe the goals were a bit fortunate in the way they were presented.
But chances taken.

A couple of chances not taken at the other end.

And the final score in BUDAPEST... which was NOT an advantage to Leipzig it MUST be mentioned... is Leipzig 0 Liverpool 2".

Thanks, Martin Tyler.

Agree. The result was perfect, doesnt mean the performance was, even if I’d say it was decent.

Great performance. Getting way ahead of myself, but if we won it again but finished outside of the top 4, then the 4th PL placed side would miss out next year? Interesting....

Do we dare roll the dice and lose to Everton to get them into 4th... then win Big Ears?
