Any word on the icepacks on his legs?

Is that normal, or is something wrong?

I think its not abnormal but is generally used for minor injuries and to reduce inflammation in the areas of injury. I'd say Curtis might have ongoing niggles with his knees based on that.

If some of the prima donnas in that England side had worked as hard and shown as much passion as Curtis they’d probably still be in the competition. Having said that, there was so much wrong with that England team, it’s hard to know where to start

Shame he’s out of Norwich but I’m not convinced he’d have made the bench anyway.

Are we still having 9 on the bench this season or is it back to 7?

I think it's 9 but still 3 subs.

Not that we should be taking tactical hints from LEGO-head Arteta, but watching Smith-Rowe tonight, I really hope the way he's being deployed – free to find space, involved in everything, facilitating, creating – is how we use Curtis this year.

I think we lose a lot of what he could potentially be as a player when he's asked to play in the super-disciplined short-passes caging of his natural game we saw for most of last season when we needed him to be more mature.

He can be so much more influential for us than he's been asked to show so far. A real difference maker. Just hope Klopp lets him off the leash a bit.
