This time last week I thought we were still League title contenders. That's now looking very unlikely which is not good.

 

Can we win the Champions' League instead? Unfortunately not. There's just too many obstacles.

Only 4 outcomes to this:

 

1 - play the first leg at Anfield

2 - play the first leg in a neutral country

3 - Leipzig have to forfeit the first leg 3-0 for not staging the game

4 - Liverpool have to forfeit the first leg 3-0 for not travelling to Germany

 

3 and 4 won't happen, and I reckon it's 50/50 between the first two scenarios.

I read somewhere that UEFA have already lined up a ground in Budapest to deal with this type of situation. I don't see why we should give up the slight advantage of playing at home second particularly as there'd still be no certainty the second leg could be played in Germany.

Short answer is no due to injuries then again we were not good enough in 2005 but somehow pulled it out the bag.

This time, so far, we’ve scored 10 and only conceded 3. If we can get one of our centre backs up to speed (at least) and bolster midfield with either Fab or Hendo, I think we have a shot at competing. That’s as far as I’ll go.

If we can somehow get past Leipzig, then get some defenders fit, I could see Klopp concentrating on trying to win it again. 
The CL is our only hope this season and it’ll be literally the luck of the draw for us to progress.

City could win everything this season. They are already in the League Cup final, will win the league unless they all die of Covid and they wont play anyone decent in the FA cup until the semi or the final.

With the draws city have had in the domestic cups these last 3 or 4 years, they only have to play 2 or 3 hard games a year in each and 2 of them are usually the final. Even then Watford made it piss easy for them in the FA Cup final.

 

They were favourites to win the title before the season began.

 

People said last season was their best chance to win the CL when UEFA went to 1 game knock outs. I disagreed. They can get caught out in a straight knock out and that's what happened. If UEFA keeps 2 legged ties for this season's CL, I could see them getting to the final. Although it flips what Ive just said about one off games, I think if they do get to the final, they will win it.

Imagine progressing to say, the semis and we come up against City. I reckon our lads would be up for it. Sweet revenge
