I love that Traore lad who plays for Villa. Really looks capable of anything. Doubt he’d cost much either. I’ve seen a couple of matches if not three and scanned Wikipedia for 5 seconds so I’ve done my research.

Plenty of skills, but poor decision making and not enough end product from what I’ve seen.

Similar to the other Traore at Wolves then?
I’d go all in for the wolves one. I really would. Seeing him improve decision making/ crossing under Klopp would be fantastic.

Honestly, I don't think there could be a less klopp footballer. Klopp requires his players to be intelligent to improve them. It's why he's never improved origi. Traore is just a battering ram and performs on instinct only. The moment he needs to start thinking about anything, that explosion that everyone loves today will be gone.

Origi has never come across as anything but highly intelligent to me. What are basing your opinion on here?

the fact he plays football like a 3 year old. he doesn't watch the line, he doesn't pay attention to the movements of others, his running off the ball is mundane, his positioning in the box to get in front of his defender is one of the worst i have ever seen in a striker. i would say he is pretty much on the bottom end scale of intelligent footballers. the lad has ability in his feet, but i think he lacks intelligence and either desire or focus, I am never sure which (maybe both).

He's just not arsed. He knows he can play football to a half decent level and get paid for it. The last 2 seasons he's just coasted along on the new contract he signed after Madrid.

The club should have been ruthless and sold him then while he had a bit of aura about him being a potentially top player.

The story about why he picked the ball out the net against Everton after THAT goal in the 96th minute sums him up - he just hadn't been paying attention and thought he'd scored the equaliser rather than the winner. I don't think he's particularly lazy - he (mostly) seems to cover the ground in matches, and I don't think he's particularly thick as he speaks several languages and comes across as smart enough.

He's just nonchalant, which is fine for a cult hero, but not for a player we really need to come in and be relied upon.

I read Milner’s book a while back and that’s basically Origi all over. He’s certainly not thick but described as someone who just glides through life without a care in the world. Likeable but frustrating at the same time.

I know there’s an unhealthy interest in branding black players as thick and lazy and you hear it half as much about players who are white but in a football sense he fucking is thick and lazy. I don’t think he’s half as thick on the pitch as he comes across he’s more unorthodox which leads him to having mad unplayable performances but for someone to have his raw talent and basically not get better over a period of time working for the best one on one coach in the world then he’s certainly lacking in some department. Same as Shaqiri who gets a bit more of an easy ride and has other players to take the pressure off him in his position.
