Not as rich as before, but they have means. They still willingly sell players every summer as an economic strategy, but 25m for Tchouameni wouldn't be enough. He was in the Team of the Season last season and can get even better.

I really don't see the reason to be tense about the squad right now.  We could and should have beat Bilbao 5-1, just Salah not hitting his stride.  Had he scored we'd have gone on from there.  And that's a decent Bilbao team, and Trent/Robbo/Matip had below average games. 

5-1? They had a few chances too, or do we ignore that? Not just Mo not hitting his stride, the midfield were not doing their job, Bilbao got through more than a few times. Think you’re vastly overstating how Naby has looked. But It’s pre season, so I’m not paying too much attention to it, purely about getting them up to speed. Just seems like you are though…….

Intensity-wise, I think so. We can point to some decent results in previous pre-seasons but I think a lot were misleading due to opposition preparedness, IE Barca 4-0. 

 

I think we've played some moody low-block teams this time which is the type of opposition we face 80% of the season.  It's been physical and intense.

I’m not comparing them as players, just saying that flop signings can occasionally look good in pre-season.

 

Keita cost £50m+, so far he is undoubtedly a flop.

Seems like it's a conflation of a few mis-reported stories Saturday that Inter were having a fire sale because the financial situation had worsened and that everyone was available.

 

Which would make the potential Dzeko signing odd.
