He got 2 CBs in January. And of course he's going to say he didn't want Gini to leave.

Not sure that shows he's not getting backed.

He was given two bums on the last day of the transfer window.

That ain’t getting backed no matter how you try to spin it.

He doesn’t massively rock the boat ala Rafa I agree.

But he was begging for a CB in January and has gone on record to say he didn’t want Gini to leave.

I think he accepts we went short term in Jan to get Konaté now.

The Gini part he wouldn't like, but you can't extend everybody.

I know what you mean.

I see it as not getting backed is not getting any CBs in.

You're making out as if he had someone in mind and FSG said no.

Only proof that was the case would make your case, as far as I can tell.

If they only gave him the two bums they did on the 1st of January it would have been one thing.

But no, they didn’t back him despite him begging for a CB and did nothing to the last day of the window.

Who are "they", and what actually happened that makes you so sad?

The only reason for that was Matip getting injured with only a couple of days left in the transfer window.

Edwards/transfer committee/board whatever you want to call them.

Anyone with half a brain cell knew Matip wouldn’t be able to play 2 games a week and was going to break down.

Why is Klopp not involved though? I don't get it. Why have you absolved him of any blame?

You think Klopp scouted Ben Davies himself?

You said anyone with half a brain could see Matip was going to get injured.

What about Klopp?

You then decided to bring up Ben Davies, as if Klopp had nothing to do with it.

What's clear to me is you think Klopp's shit don't stink.

It's also clear to me that you have no evidence that "they" compromised Klopp in any way.

I'm ok with either as a theory.

I just don't buy it.

Klopp clearly didn't want Davies or Kabak. Davies hasn't played a single game for us and Schalke were practically giving Kabak away and the he wasn't interested in signing him once his loan period ended.

He wasn't interested before his loan period started. I think that's pretty obvious.

Just a pity he never seems as ruthless with some of the other wasters in our squad.

I think that's an important point. He demands loyalty, and offers it back in spades.

I remember an interview in his early days where he talked about players as human beings, and about how they've moved their families over to a new country. He stated in no uncertain terms, that he would honour that commitmet with loyalty.

Thats all very fine and well but they need to perform.

It was massive missed opportunity last season for Shaqiri, Jones, Keita, Ox, Origi and Minamino to step up and prove they were worthy of challenging for places. But none of them did.

"Klopp not being backed" is completely subjective. He himself doesn't seem the least bit arsed right now, so...

Why would he be, and why would he go moaning to the press about it? Thats not his style.

PLUS they are his employers in a working relationship. I get pissed at my bosses but I don't go round moaning about them on Linkedin

It's pretty obvious now that we had a long term target in Konaté and so just went for two placeholders in the meantime.

The big concern there is we were top over Christmas and badly needed cover. January was a disaster. It's not Klopps fault although in hindsight I reckon he would have put Nat in sooner.
