We had a laugh about similar problems that he had to the ones I have now, although he is not overly disappointed about not having these problems anymore!"

Clear dig at FSG if there ever was one. Master politician that Klopp fella.

Never has the owners of a club failed as miserably as FSG in «trying» to defend titles.

The last three transfer windows has destroyed our position completely. Third last season, maybe top 4 this season if - by some miracle - we have no injuries in our first 11.

Yeah; I have supported and defended them; how could you not after hiring Klopp and winning the two biggest titles? Not any more; thanks for the good times, but it’s time to head back to the states now.

I don't want to be a hysterical fanny, but I'm starting - starting - to think we might not sign anyone else.

Stop getting your knickers in a twist. When we’re four days from the end of the transfer window, then you can start to panic if nothing has happened.

My favourite part of this rambling post is when you complain that in a few years some of our best players will be 31.

The thing that brought about this rant? The fact that United just signed a player who is ... 36.

Fernandinho 36

Walker 31

Gundogan 30

De Bruyne 30

Mahrez 30

Thiago Silva 36

Azpilicueta 32

Alonso 30

Kante 30

Jorginho 30

…but yeah, our squad is past it and needs binning.

For the all money flying around I'm not seeing much improvement for anyone. Chelsea have spent 100m to go from 4th best side to 3rd, Utd have done similar to do the opposite. Arsenal have spend a shed load to maybe get to 8th, Villa won't progress with their signings, either will Leicester.

The side i think will have the biggest jump position wise is Everton. They have gotten better by not spending and improving on their manager. It helps that they will bow play all 38 games this season and not have their belly tickled 3 or 4 times.

I think everyone knows we have enough players, we just don’t have quite enough quality players. Swap Origi and/or Minamino for someone young and properly good and the same for Keita/Ox and we would be cooking on all the gas burners.

It’s annoying because Klopp is amazing and even despite Man City and Chelsea spunking shiploads of ill gotten gains everywhere, this is probably the best chance we’ll have to win stuff and dominate for the foreseeable.

Despite that I think we’ve got a good chance of the League and Europe, biggest worry for me is Mane, and if he can recover his best form.

Good post  Going into this window we had loads of players who don't contribute or don't contribute enough. Grujic, Wilson, Shaq, minamino, origi, Chamberlain and keita. As far as I was concerned they could all go and could be replaced with probably 2 mids and a forward. Certainly one of each as obviously we wouldn't sell them all. We've done lots of the selling which will put money in the bank and lower the wage bill. But we haven't added to the numbers. Instead of having 7 who offer little, we've now got 4, but the squad has added just a centre back. Even the FSG worshippers were saying we needed a mid and a forward when the window finished. I don't really see how that has changed.

Good post. I don’t think anybody disagrees. It’s the lengths some go to over and over and over again on the matter, continuing blarting the same old shite despite every fact going shows the exact opposite of their point.

I appreciate I’m as guilty as them picking up on it, I hope I do it enough they’ll fuck off. I’ve had intermittent success.

I agree in the main. However, Keita and Ox are on the bench when everyone’s fit. They’re pretty fucking good compared to bench warmers at other clubs. We definitely need a forward. Origi is never going to be good enough, and question marks over Bobby, as he hasn’t been good since his injury pre CL final.

I’ve been pretty critical of Bobby over the last year as his form has been for the most part been poor imo.

in saying that I think he’s looked really sharp & fit this preseason and when he’s played so far. I think klopp might start him today with Kota as an option from the bench.
