Out of contract next summer and has apparently told Torino he won't sign a new one.

We should be sending YouTube compilations of Original (possibly skipping the last year or so) to Torino.

I'd keep Minamino around (not related to pre-season form).

He signed when the world went to shit and so was isolated from the team in his first few months here, his first full season he had to play in a team where the ability to play in the way we bought him was limited because we had to change our style of play to account for injuries at CB.

This summer is the first real pre-season he's had, he may still not make it but there's a player in there that hasn't really had a chance so far.

How the fuck have Chelsea got £34m for him ??? I guess money really does go to money

Chelsea have been involved in some questionable sales the last couple of years.

We struggle to offload players like Origi and Shaqiri yet they seem to get great offers completely out of the blue from supposedly skint clubs with no haggling. Also a lot of the players are ones who've barely played for them or play for mid table teams in weaker leagues on loan.

And Chelsea have been stockpiling players on loan for exactly this reason, in an ideal world one of those players becomes a first teamer and if not they can claw in money to allow them to comply with various FFP, P&S or STCC rules that may come up.

We do it to, just on a much smaller scale so its not as sustainable.

Last night was the best I've seen him play for us. I keep going back to that FA Cup game against the Villa teenagers though where he struggled to get to grips with them.

He clearly has the skill and technique to be a decent player, hopefully he's done some real work in the gym to make him a bit physically stronger.

I still don't think he's anywhere near good enough for this level though.

Tammy Abraham to Roma for £34m even though Italian clubs are like people on benefits buying a pair of Armani jeans from a catalogue wanting to pay it off £4.60 a week for 7 years.

I'd say that's about right for him. I'm surprised that the likes of West Ham and Arsenal weren't in for him at that price.

One thing I always forget is how Klopp improves players over time.

The reason that didn't happen last season was largely because of the Covid disruption to the calendar and training schedule, and then our injuries and subsequent poor form after new year.

Minamino was loaned out to make way for Kabak. Otherwise he'd have stayed, I reckon.

I've never seen a merely good Ligue 1 player with potential get as much hype as Aouar. You would think he was literally Zidane the way people who have likely barely watched him play rate him. He has talent, but he's quite flawed and he's #lightweight.

I agree on Aouar. Don’t get the hype, he’s been average for 18 months but a few games in CL.

Not really Aouar, no. Most of the players making the step up from Lyon I've had doubts. Fekir, Ndombele, Aouar. But the thing with Aouar is he hasn't kicked on. He looked great years ago.

The players in Ligue 1 I've really liked the most you could say who haven't lived up to it are Lemar and Ousmane Dembele.

Lemar eventually made the grade didn’t he ? Wasn’t he a starter for Athletico last year ?

Me too, watched him in person a couple of years ago and he didn't really stand out (although gave him benefit of the doubt as it was preseason, it still cooled my enthusiasm).

It was the Emirates cup (free ticket from an arsenal fan mate), was impressed by willock.
