Don't worry boys the club are just keeping their powder dry for a big summer transfer window 2022.

Fans have not been able to attend football matches, there's no value in January and player X freshly back from his loan spell at FC Chip butty will save the club Millions.

Rice is not good enough to play for us nor will he ever be. He can look good making lung burst charges up the pitch or physically imposing himself on an attacker running away from him. His awareness of danger is not at the level required but worst of all he can't and won't receive the ball in tight spaces. He's scared shitless to receive the ball on the half turn or even turn with it. He's the reason Italy had 73% possession.

I'm not in any way advocating the signing of Rice but almost everything you said there is the same type of stuff aimed at Henderson when we signed him.

Carrick was a quality, Champions League winning midfielder. He's also not remotely a similar player to Declan Rice: actually the antithesis, as Carrick was very much a possession based short-passing midfielder.

Anyway, shaping up to be another unfulfilling FSG summer. Rapidly reaching last chance saloon with this set of players given the ages -- probably 2 more seasons left as an elite competitive squad, around the same time as we have Klopp contracted for. Good to see FSG investing while we're strong.

I wasn’t comparing their playing styles.

Both are massive hipster fanboy favourites and neither anywhere near as good as made out to be.

True and even now he's not half as comfortable in that position as Fabinho is. The player in that role is key to controlling games, Henderson only really became comfortable receiving the ball on the half turn in the last 2-3 years. Before that he was like Rice is now, pointing where he wants it played but having no interest in making himself available in vulnerable positions. Rice ran away from Maguire and Stones for the entire match, I'd tried to find stats but couldn't but I'd be surprised if received 2 passes from them in the 75 minutes he was on.

No fucking chance - he’s the current hipsters Michael Carrick.

Never good enough for us and completely unsuitable for a Klopp side.

and was no where near the best England player in the final.

Hoping there’s some truth in these Berardi rumours. Quick, left footed and knows where the goal is. Getting him for a similar fee to Jota would be great business.

Hmm.... I'd much rather Chiesa or even Belotti if we are after an Italian forward.

He wen't off because he was shit in the second half.  Pickford was miles better throughout.

He went off because he was fucked after doing all the teams running. How would you remember? You probably had a firework down your japseye at 10am, no chance you had an eye open for the match.

Paris Saint-Germain's Verratti was in majestic form as he turned the contest in the Azzurri's favour. Of his 118 passes, 111 were successful and 72 came in the England half. Chelsea's Jorginho was similarly efficient with 94 out of 98 completed. Even allowing for Rice's 74th-minute substitution, the Opta statistics for himself (33 passes, 25 completed) and Phillips (39 passes, 30 completed) tell the story of their and England's night.

He was shit, made some surges that looked impressive but way out of his depth. Harry Maguire was like Johnny Wilkinson looking for touch, that shit is on Rice and Phillips more than Maguire.

The cost of Rice would be way more than his actual worth for our team. He's a good player he's not world class and they would demand a fee well beyond his value. Like all rice in a good meal its just the filler.

Klopp turns good player's into world class player's. Worth a punt for the right price.

I don't think Berardi had a great tournament, to be honest. He's both a better player, and a better fit, than Belotti though.

Belotti would be really good in a side that only really counters. A sort of Italian Bellamy.

Chiesa isn't happening, as good as it would be. He's Juventus' best player. They apparently knocked back 80m from Bayern yesterday.

Rice was Englands best player before he went off.

No he wasn't. Stones Walker Pickford and Kane were all more impressive than him, Phillips was every bit his equal. You may aswell include Mount if your just counting hardwork and diligence as reasons for being the best player.

I guarantee if you ever watch that game again it will be entirely different, with the tension removed you will see a game between 2 teams of equal standing but one had midfielders that wanted the ball and the other had midfielders petrified of receiving it incase they lost it. He completed 25 out of 33 passes, the completion rate is appalling but the number of attempts are pitiful.
