I was about to post 6 possible ways Liverpool can sign Mbappe this summer but I don’t think you negative ninnies deserve my fascinating insight. Don’t even think about asking me for my top 3 tips for what to do if you see a drug dealer on a scrambler bike either.

1. Pay money for him.

2. Pay money for him.

3. Pay money for him.

4. Pay money for him.

5. Pay money for him.

6. Pay money for him.

How am I doing boss?

Keep your powder kegs dry lads, you can defend/attack FSG as much as you want in 8 weeks. Until then it's absolutely fucking pointless.

Nah, they’ve got about another three weeks before they get a ‘buy someone you cunts.’ I’ve been patient. I will not be denied longer than that.

Unless they buy someone.

I would be delighted with Sanches. Looks like he is showing the form from a few years ago between Lille last season and Portugal recently.

It would be a very us signing under Jurgen to be fair. A lad who has world class potential for 30 or 40 million. Whether it is him or the lad at Ajax, it would be a shrewd purchase for the future because if nothing else we need to be planning ahead. The brilliant team we have is aging and it could be a major issue in the next 18-24 months.

Very concerning the quality of players the other clubs are going after and getting. Yeah Ole might never win the league but with the quality of players they could get this summer, the shit will stick. Certainly, a world class manager makes them a scary prospect. City and Chelsea already have top managers and an endless pit of money. Arsenal won't always be shit and Spurs could get their act together at some point.

FSG hit the goldmine with the best manager in the world. They do deserve a lot of credit for making the right decisions and learning from stupid ones. My mate said to me the other day that their next big purchase will be a world class manager when Jurgen goes and I agree. Still, it's hard to see us challenging for titles on a consistent basis, if they are living off a more or less 100% hit rate on transfers and hoping for a Coutinho type sale to buy two world class players to fund it.

I'm no fan of them, but they are world class businessmen. My hope is that they will acknowledge last season's debacle and learn from it. It costs them money if we aren't in the Champions League and this motivates them to properly invest in the squad. Last season for 2 or 3 months it scared the shit out of me, so hopefully it caused them serious sleepless nights. Invest if Jurgen wants it, even if that means a gigantic outlay on players. It repays itself when we are winning trophies.

As it stands, we have signed one first team quality player this summer. One more than Chelsea and City. The next 2-3 weeks will tell us if we have a shambles of a summer or a good one. It also tells me if they will look to sell us in the next year or so.

Based purely on what I saw on Sanches in the Euro’s, I think he looks quality.

However, this is a cause for concern. I can accept Konate’s injury record more as they are a couple of big injuries (not unlike Ox) but this looks consistent…

Coming back early from 2 of them doesn’t look helpful.

Made to look worse as Transfermarkt have placed the same injury in the list 3 times with differing total days missed:

Should really just be 1 entry:

Hamstring Injury 02/10/2019 - 03/11/2019 (32 days)

True, but the 20/21 stuff doesn’t look great.

29 appearances last season.

Consider me concerned.

Not feeling this at all. Has never lived up to the initial hype and his injury record looks worrying too.

Clearly better at carrying the ball forward but is he really that different to Oxlade-Chamberlain? Not sure we need both of them in the squad.

Klopp filled his side’s holes accordingly back in 2018 when bringing in Van Dijk for £75m, Alisson for £65m and Fabinho for £39m.

With his squad ageing, the time will come when he needs to invest further again but that time is not now.

As such, don’t expect to see Liverpool battle to spend big on a Sancho, Varane or any other big-name starter this summer.

Klopp already completed such necessary high-profile transfer activity three years ago.

We bought some players a few years ago.

Oh, ok. Seems we're sorted.

Absolutely. Just on first glance, the list provided by Transfermarkt makes it appear worse than it is.

While the number of games missed through injury is a concern, I'm also concerned by the number of times he managed to play the full 90 minutes last season.

He only played the full 90 in 6 of the 29 games he played. (Works out to be 57 minutes per game on average).

You also can't "respond" to something 3 years before it happens.

Dele Alli can't play midfield and can't play on the wing. If you don't have a formation with a classic #10, he's useless, and he's not even really good at being a #10 anymore. His lack of being able to play a different position exposes a bit of a lack of intelligence and work ethic, really. But I've never rated him, except the year he exploded onto the scene.

The one midfielder I can see there being interest in where we'd try to be secretive about it, is Renato Sanches. I think he's for sure on the "shortlist".

What makes you think he's a main candidate. I'm assuming if we sell enough players a midfielder and a forward are our objectives and probably who leaves will depend which we go for if we can only afford one, but we've been linked to so many midfielders, many of them have been driven as strong, if not stronger than this link?

Well we had our very own Dougie going and getting gillett on the record with an interview, and didn't SoS spring up from a forum?

There were representatives from all the forums involved and some of the final pushing on the internet, co-ordinated as the "kop faithful " was mostly people who were leading the fight on each of their own forums. Even RAWK! Without the forums, h&g would likely still be here.

This is the one I was referring to before. We don't need to sign anyone because we were fucking ace in 2018. As I said in the earlier post, it's embarrassing some of the fsg flag waving done by the echo.

I think Alli could be a very good player, but he's also a massive bellend who clearly doesn't work hard enough on his game, which is why you're dead right he's pigeon holed himself as a 10. I genuinely think he has the talent with the right coach to be able to play a little deeper, but he'd need the desire. The problem is imo, he's a real project signing - and would really only be worth that gamble if you could pick him up for the kind of fee you'd get from Harry Wilson and I don't see that happening. I certainly wouldn't expect (or want) us to pay that 30-40m valuation that most of the midfielders we've been linked with have been valued.

We haven't had a "look how boss Liverpool were spending the Coutinho money 3 years ago" article for a while.

Doesn't take into account that Wijnaldum has left and the team are 3 years older.

I love the way they make articles with obscure references to other teams and pass it off as some positive for Liverpool.

"Liverpool could benefit from £275m Manchester United and Chelsea transfer spree" which means that one player somewhere who Man Utd or Chelsea have sold to another team may be need to sell a player that Liverpool have been linked with.

It basically just boils down to the Echo sucking off FSG.
