Erm, because they probably said ‘no, we are fighting for a title and can’t replace him’ or ‘current price is 100m’. Seems a strange criticism on the day we sign him. ‘Fuck, the only thing I can complain about is why we didn’t do it last window’.

Yeah, that makes sense, although we could have made some sort of agreement that we wouldn't play him in those games?

He wasn't playing for them at that point anyway. He's only started 3/4 games for them this calendar year.

 

I just find it odd that that we've waited until our first choice Centre back's start to regain fitness before signing him.

All kidding aside, Konaté's a project. Hasn't played much football the past couple of years.

On a more positive note he does seem to have the potential to be a very good defender. Very good in the air. Hopefully he can build a strong partnership with Virgil.

Im pretty sure it kicked up a stink because it is against the rules, once you sell a player you can't enforce anything like that.
