Sounds like my childhood...

Southport Pontins. You must have been loaded.

We were lucky to get a day out to new Brighton and we had to lie we were under 5 on the bus and ferry and me ma made us walk from the Wallasey ferry station all the way to the fair.

What I’d have gave for a day inside those golden gates of Southport pontins

I'm making an early shout on Carvalho from Fulham. Only seen him for 20 minutes yesterday but he done 2 or 3 things that looked a class above everyone else on the pitch. It will be a huge mistake not to sign him.

It would be a huge mistake not to sign him based on watching him for 20 minutes in a meaningless end of season game? I never realised you were actually Damien Commoli.

Bring honest it took only a few seconds and I was in. His close control and acceleration was outstanding.

He has size and pace galore - two things it is very difficult to make up for.

Konate is a couple inches taller and much faster. Both of them are decent on the ball and can carry the ball out of defense. In theory, he's the prototypical CB. 6 foot 4, athletic, pacey, good with the ball. Kabak is shorter and slower.

I don't think kabak lacks pace. I am pretty sure I heard a stat the other day saying he was one of the fastest defenders in the league. I'm not saying he's faster than konate because I litterally don't know, but while he's maybe not the quickest on the turn, I think kabak looks pacey. Konate must be massive if he's bigger, because kabak looks fucking big himself.

Konate is two to three inches taller than Kabak if you believe the listed heights.

I think Kabak will be a very good defender in time. He's already shown signs of getting to grips with the league. £20m would be a decent price, but if we've found a player in Konate that gives us first choice quality in the short term as well, it makes sense to go for him instead.

The more I think about it, the funnier it gets to think of Harry Kane (the only client of an agency which is run by his brother and assisted by their dad) relying on a “gentleman’s agreement” with Daniel Levy to secure his departure.

You'd think one of them might have spoken to Modric regarding how trustworthy Levy's gentleman's agreements are?

Yeah, but there's swings and round about to things like that. If levy really wants to fight to keep kane, well he'll feel there's nothing in his contract, so he's sounds. Equally as a major figure in the spurs dressing room, if the fuck kane, a local lad too, they'll fuck anyone. Contracts are sound and all that, but sometimes reputational damage can be more painful than any contract clause.

You either heard it wrong or they are wrong.

I was shocked too. Not that I think he's slow. I think they said either 4th fastest defender or 4th fastest centre back.

If we sell Origi this summer and need an impact player to come off the bench and create havoc without costing a fortune, I reckon Mihail Antonio could be a clever ‘moneyball’ buy. He’s lightning quick, strong as an ox, and decent in the air and he knows it too.

And has hamstrings make of rejected parts for Joel Matip

I’d rather have a player to compete for the first team and have 5/6 players of genuine quality rather somebody as “impact”.

And Patrick Bamford wouldn’t meet that requirement either!

Obviously Sunday’s result might decide who that is.
