Yeah agree with that Ronnie. He's just doing the simple things which is all you want a young lad coming into a struggling team to do.

Think it's a bit tough on young Rhys and Nat though because despite all the crap thrown at the team, they havent been responsible for the run of poor results.

Think Rhys needs a good loan move. He has a bit of quality but he needs to learn his craft away from Anfield. Some of the criticism of him was unfair. He's only a kid. You see that lad for Leipzig tonight who is going to Bayern and he was rubbish. It's a very tough position for a young player.

Nat is a great lad. Nowhere near our quality in a normal season, but he did really well for us. I would keep him as a 5th or 6th choice centre half. Even for the domestic cups.

On Saturday he looked like he was repeating high line to himself for 90 minutes. He looked so concentrated on that one thing that making a pass or a tackle was beyond him. He looked more more relaxed tonight, didn't look the pile of shite I had him pencilled in for on Saturday.

He was better than Saturday for sure, but far from man of the match.

If Leipzig had scored a couple, which they could easily have done, he would’ve been slaughtered by many on here. The situation in extra time when they broke through was shocking defending, and Kabak was definately part of it, They fluffed their chance, it goes unnoticed.

Very early days for him, and far too early to judge, but s few more positive signs tonight than Saturday.

He was very good tonight, and he’s still only a kid at 20, especially in that position.

The problem for him and us is that  because of his age and relative inexperience, he’ll make a few mistakes at a time when we really can’t afford them.

The fact that he’ll soon allow Henderson or Fabinho back into midfield is pretty significant too.

The Bundesliga expert on Norwegian telly praised him for being dangerous at set pieces and deceptively fast whilst at Stuttgart and 1st year at Schalke.  He felt he was a victim of the poor form Schalke has been in this year.

I'm a victim of the poor form we've been in this year.

Agree with this.

Bring in a top quality CB in the Summer. Let Nat and Fab argue over who is 5th or 6th choice  - let's hope it doesn't come to that next year - and send Williams to the Championship or somewhere to get some proper game time.

He was solid, but not better than Hendo IMO.

Henderson was better bringing the ball out, Kabak was better at defending the ball. There should not be a surprise there as one is a defender, one isn't. Towards the end when they almost scored, Henderson wasn't anticipating the run as he's not a natural defender.

Henderson pushed up and Kabak dropped off playing the forward onside. More of a misunderstanding between them or maybe a misjudgment by Henderson. Kabak was ok. Good to have a CB at set pieces in both boxes though.

I thought he was ... not great?

Seen some stuff online about how he was our best player but IMO he was far from it. If it were a pre-season game and you saw him put that performance out there you'd be thinking "well, he's young, he looks like he understands the game all right and maybe the on-the-ball stuff will feel more natural when he's not overawed."

But to be honest, it was more or less fine, and that's kind of what we need from him right now. No one is looking for him to be van Dijk, just to be significantly better than Rhys and Phillips. Which he was, so job done, I suppose.

You couldn't possibly not be worried by what he was doing at Schalke. He was horrendous. He's here because of potential.

I prefer taking the punt on potential. I was worried my judgment of him was totally wrong. Thought he was raw, reckless but with a bit of pace and strength. On Saturday he looked small (?) Slow and indecisive.  For 20 million he defo worth a good look at.

The last chance Leipzig had. Henderson steps up the line and Kabak hangs back.

Not sure if Henderson was suppused to hold the line in that situation or Kabak was supposed to step forward as well. Almost cost a goal, but they haven't played together much so misunderstandings will occur.

Overall decent performance but defensive wise we need to step it up against the grogs for sure. that target man will have a field day if we don't shut the crosses down alot better than last night.
