Dollars trilogy for me. It defined a genre, influenced so much afterwards, created a superstar, and the cinematography and score are still top-notch more than 50 years on. Eastwood/Leone/Morricone is collaborative lightning in a bottle.

I know LOTR is technically brilliant and epic in scale, but I've never bothered to re-watch them having seen each of them once. I've never bothered with The Hobbit trilogy either.

LOTR for me, easily.

One of the most epic trilogies around.

Prefer the books but the films are still absolutely brilliant. No way you could accurately fit the books into three films but Peter Jackson and his team did a brilliant job all the same.

Proper events at the time also, loved that each one came out a year apart.

Easily Lord of the Rings. Nearly 20 years later and each film still looks great.

What, in your opinion, is, Vlad?

The Godfather is unbeatable. Godfather 3 was much weaker but even so the first two were enough for me to regard them as the best. There is also a cracking trilogy of Danish films called Pusher with a younger Mads Mikkelsen in them. That is superb. A Swedish trilogy called Easy Money or Snabba Cash,I believe, which are very good. Not forgetting the Swedish originals of The Girl with The Dragon Tatto and its sequels. English speaking films are not necessarily the best though.
