You mean the government controlled media will milk the fuck out of this whilst the government continues to try and cover its murdering arse? You better believe it.

No disrespect to the man and respects to his family but unless he was still in the armed forces at 100 years old he stopped being a 'Captain' about 60 years ago.

Actually you are bang wrong here, according to Debrett's:

https://www.debretts.com/expertise/forms-of-address/professions/the-armed-forces/

...regular officers who attained the substantive rank of captain and above may use, and be addressed by, their rank on retirement from the Army

2 in 2 days for me

I've got visions of you wearing a hooded robe with your bony hands brandishing a scythe, laughing evilly.

I knew somebody who worked at the BBC. She said on a day like today, every Z list celebrities agent would be ringing in trying to get their client’s tribute read out and they would get really angry when they were declined.

They’ve missed a trick there, medals won’t be going with him, they’re already on their way to be valued by Sotheby’s.

We are not supposed to reveal our list publicly. According to my conversations in my inbox,The Woolster hadn't even read my list. I think he might have his hands tied at the moment and Mrs Woolster is playing dominatrix.

I'll replace Captain Tom with (reluctantly) dennis skinner. My dad's hero was Dennis

I thought about Dennis but did Eileen Derbyshire instead.

With your run of luck I might have dropped a bollock there.

Right, confession time, I sat down Sunday night to put my picks together for this year, but then I realised I had not submitted my Self-Assessment tax return, and it was deadline day!

So I haven't picked my team yet... good thing I brought in the new rule about late entries then! I haven't opened anyone's PMs yet (can't remember if you can see if messages have been read or not on this forum), so I will get my team picked and then post it on here, and then I will get everyone's lists together. Of course under the new rules, if any of my picks die within a week, I won't get the points.

Sounds like @littletedwest is off to a flier though, so I better pick well!

    • Hope you're right fella! Not sure the other 14 PL clubs have got the memo though. Maybe UEFA and Mr Ceferin could pull some strings for us?
    • Jon Henry didn't direct any of his apology to any other club, the PL, UEFA, or FIFA.   He's not fretting.   And in my opinion, there is no chance in hell he's pulled us out without some sort of deal with them that benefits us somehow.
    • Bit of a fractured round of fixtures this week because of the FA Cup. There have been games every day since last Friday though so still plenty to get through.   Let’s kick off at the Pit last week where Spurs led once and trailed once in a game that turned out to be Mourinho’s last one in charge.   Kane scored twice while Spurs old boy Gylffi Sigurdsson did likewise for High Horse FC. Kane hit the bar with a brilliantly improvised header and then went off injured as his crisp bag ankles let him down again. He’s doubtful for the League Cup final this weekend now.   I don’t even know who they’re playing. I’m assuming it’s City but I’ve paid zero attention to it so genuinely don’t know. If they are playing City without Kane then they’ve got no chance.   Spurs sacked Mourinho the day after the Super League news broke. There were some rumours that he refused to take training in protest at it. Not sure if he was unhappy about the idea itself or the fact he was kept in the dark about it. Don’t really care. He was a genuinely awful fit for Spurs and they should never have appointed him. It was always going to end like this.   What happens next is going to be interesting. No top club is going to touch him and it remains to be seen if he can put his ego to one side and take charge of a smaller club with a lesser budget. I’d love to see him give it a go at somewhere like Newcastle or even a relegated club like West Brom or Sheffield United.   He doesn’t need the money but his reputation has been seriously eroded over the last decade. Taking over a lesser light and getting them promoted and then challenging for a European spot would be a great riposte to the accusations he only every takes the easy option.   I hope he does. There was a time when I despised him more than anyone else in football but over recent years I’ve warmed to him a bit. I’m not saying I like him, but I no longer hate him and I feel like he’s not the massive twat he once was. Much of it is an act. He’s playing a role, like last week with that “Ole is a terrible dad because he starves his kids” schtick. That was brilliant. I hope he's back soon but at somewhere that is actually going to be interesting.      This is just a teaser, click here to view the full article   Please note that PL Round Ups are only available to website subscribers. • Yep. As I said earlier, I think we've blown our chances of 4th with that late Leeds equaliser and Im normally pretty optomistic.
    • I'm firmly in the John Barnes camp on everything he says.  That man needs to be in the boardroom.
