Tough choice indeed, Bond is probably the longest running and culturally most important proper franchise in the history of cinema (Star Wars was not a franchise, it was devised as a myth told in 9 installments, deliberately over a longer period of time), whilst Python films are neither a franchise or a series in any shape or form.

Life of Brian and Lebowski are the two funniest films ever but apart from a couple of funny bits the other Python films aren't very good.  There are some poor Bond films but mostly they're either good, really good or great.

Ah, those missing Python members Joel and Ethan Coen.

This is a ludicrous draw at this stage. For that reason I'm out. Wanker of a draw. It's like San Mitty always getting drawn against lon-neague opposition in the AF Cup whilst Piverlool always get Flop Tight opposition. It's a fix.

I was gutted when I randomized and very very nearly re-did it but that just goes against the way it should be. Its a fucker

I look at the Python films as separate entities that just happen to be made by the same people.

Bond is Bond and (Goldeneye aside) the less said about the Brosnan era the better - however it wins this hands down for me, and as much as i love Life of Brian and Holy Grail, there is simply more Bond to love.

Cant decide at the minute as Life of Brian and one that never gets mentioned often in And Now For Something Completely Different (a best of if you like) is also a laugh out loud classic film.

Bond though is culturally important and is arguably the greatest movie franchise ever that has produced some brilliant movies and scenes especially under Connery but also the early Moore ones .

Will have to think about this one

Monty Python movies were great, but some of the earlier Bonds at the time they came out were the very peak of excitement and brilliant filmmaking for whisking you away to a breathless place of gorgeous woman and amazing action scenes.  It's all a bit formulaic now, probably naturally enough, and no one is ever surprised by a Bond gadget these days, but back in the day a car shooting guns or turning into a submarine was head exploding stuff. Again, Monthy Python were great, but Bond was sensational
