Being laballed as champions have gotten to these players heads so they feel whatever they do no matter how shit they play they won’t care because well they’re still champions in their minds.

and that’s where our lack of leadership shines through. Van Dijk is the biggest player IMO this club has ever had and it’s just shows...when he’s not in the side we crumble from top to bottom and when he’s in we go on records like we have done the past 3 years.

We also need Hendo back ASAP in that midfield because Chamberlain (not even gonna call him Ox anymore) is absolutely fucking stinking dogshit.

40m for a player in last year of his contract and knew was a permacrock  wtf were we thinking if at all.

I think when you look back on it, we've been bordering on shite since last March. Things have gone wrong this season in multiple ways, but this is  a long term trend. Honestly probably should have seen it coming.

Oxpisspot was bought for home quota. And we thought we got a decent player. He played decently up until that long injury, but that was always going to be the case the injury(injuries) that is. He's always been a bit shit. My Arsenal mate laughed his ass off when we bought him tbh.

No, I won't put you on ignore, and don't tell me what I should and shouldn't do, you fucking spastic.

For what its worth, my son has a medical condition too, the details of which I won't go into here. The difference between you and me is that I'm not pathetic enough to bring it up in an argument on a football forum.

Looks like the cups then. Twat Utd Sunday and kick on.

Well we've struggled lately because teams have been sitting back and letting us have the ball. The mancs might get cocky and try to attack a bit given the current situation of both teams, and the fact they are at home.

Yeah, there are some convenient explanations for some of this. Covid, no fans, some dead rubbers after the title win, injuries, etc... but it might be time to accept we're just not that good anymore.

I'd already accepted that we weren't as good as a team that gets 97 or 98 points in a season.  I had still hoped that we would be good enough to get 1 more point than the team in second. Obviously, I was wrong.

First person to trot out the "Well maybe this will be the wakeup call the team needs to kick on" cliche gets backheeled in the nuts. Looking at our upcoming fixtures we could be in real trouble by the end of Feb.

We just don't have enough quality outside the first 11. Everything comes back to that.

Massive underfunding from FSG. It's remarkable what Jurgen has achieved all things considered.

But he has bought poorly too and not used transfer windows as often as he should have to wheel and deal.

Thank fuck we managed to win another title and makes the shitshow of this season less painful.

I see this said, but I don't think people at the club would agree. They'd probably point to the depth in midfield and Jota, Minamino and Shaqiri being a backup attack that should be decent enough. I just think it's shown the squad needs some turnover now. After years of some decent continuity in the first 11, when the results dip such as they have, you probably need to start thinking about moving some players on and adding some freshness.

This just feels like an end of a cycle and unfortunately we won't be able to squeeze a title out of the last bit of juice we have with some of these players. Maybe I'm wrong and we'll keep everyone and get people back fit and find a new spark next season, but this feels like a real hole.

That is a bastard of a run.

On current form i could see us getting 4 or 5 pts from that lot.

We have though even in this season of real mediocrity managed to get good results in the 'harder' games - hopefully that can continue.

It is certainly going to be a pivotal period.

Not an end of cycle at all. Most players are still in their prime.

Just need to add a few quality players and get rid of the shite.

Will this happen? Nope. 2 reasons. FSG tight cunts and Klopp is not savage enough in getting rid of players.

    • A forthright Andy Robertson says no excuses can be made for their current form as the Reds slumped to a club record fifth straight home defeat in the league.   Mason Mount scored the decisive goal just before half time when he cut inside and produced a sublime finish as the West London continued their momentum under new boss Thomas Tuchel.   in contrast, the reigning champions created precious little, recording just one shot on target (a tame Gini Wijnaldum header) for the full 90 minutes.   For the previous couple of seasons, Liverpool seemed to break records on a seemingly weekly basis.   The football world was in awe of their perseverance and mentality. You did not have to necessarily like Liverpool, but you sure had respect them for their achievements.   Returning to the modern day and we are now seeing a pale imitation of that outstanding outfit.   In truth this is not a great surprise with the amount of long-term absentees and countless players coming in and out of the team meaning there is no continuity.   However on any given match day there is enough World Class talent and Internationals in the squad who have the quality needed to score goals and win games of Football.   Speaking after the match to the BBC(via The Independent), the Left-Back pulled no punches.   “These games are won and lost on fine margins and these goals can’t happen. For us to get beaten on the counter attack is not good enough.    “Five home games without a win, that is nowhere near good enough. Nothing is going to help the fans at home and it is simply not good enough because games are running out for what we want.     Robertson indicated that confidence is low within the squad but says it is no good just feeling sorry for themselves as there is a job to do and games are running out.   “Too many heads are going down when we go 1-0 down, we can’t do that. Football is about taking knocks.   “We can’t rely on the past. Last season is over with, it is done.   We have nowhere near been good enough to what a Liverpool team should be. We are dropping further and it is not good enough.   “Games are running out and we need to put the pressure on the teams below us.   "People will think we are down and out and we need to get the results to show them we are not. At the moment we are not doing that.”

    • I have to agree. I’d like stats on every teams’ home performance this season. I suspect confidence is short in all teams at home, due to exactly that- no home advantage. Likewise, teams’ away form must surely have taken a turn upwards. We’ve lost most of our games in 2021, precisely because we’ve been at an empty Anfield more times than on the road. It must be a factor.
    • Last time I listen to Twitter over a player...   Got to be honest I hadn’t heard of him till we were linked with him but after reading and listening to everything about him I was expecting some sort of Xavi , Inesta type player who would dictate the pace and flow of every game with nobody able to lay a glove on him. What I’m seeing is a guy who struggles every game and more often that not is slow and ponderous on the ball and like the rest of the team looks a yard off the pace. As has been said maybe judge him next season but even last night we looked slightly better when he went off which admittedly isn’t saying much.
    • Yep.   I'd rather finish 10th and just reset in the League, if only with the current injured lads back.   See how Jota and Thiago go - with Virgil, Gomes/Matip (between the two of them, that's hopefully makes the "other" Henderson and Fabinho all fit again.   Almost like, forget this League season, and try and start again - the way we simply couldn't the minute VvD went down and others followed. (I know there was the Aston Villa result, but fuck that.)   Just start again with as many back as possible, fuck Europe completely, and see whether the nucleus of 19/20 can somehow climb the mountain again under Klopp.    FSG won't buy anyone, and let's just pray they don't sell anyone good.
    • As shite as we were tonight against Chelsea I fail to see what the difference is between the handball given against Ryan Bertrand (Southampton v Wolves )  and the one not given against Kante.   Happens after 1 min 20   https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0wMdolT4_a8&feature=onebox
