Being laballed as champions have gotten to these players heads so they feel whatever they do no matter how shit they play they won’t care because well they’re still champions in their minds.

and that’s where our lack of leadership shines through. Van Dijk is the biggest player IMO this club has ever had and it’s just shows...when he’s not in the side we crumble from top to bottom and when he’s in we go on records like we have done the past 3 years.

We also need Hendo back ASAP in that midfield because Chamberlain (not even gonna call him Ox anymore) is absolutely fucking stinking dogshit.

40m for a player in last year of his contract and knew was a permacrock  wtf were we thinking if at all.

I think when you look back on it, we've been bordering on shite since last March. Things have gone wrong this season in multiple ways, but this is  a long term trend. Honestly probably should have seen it coming.

Oxpisspot was bought for home quota. And we thought we got a decent player. He played decently up until that long injury, but that was always going to be the case the injury(injuries) that is. He's always been a bit shit. My Arsenal mate laughed his ass off when we bought him tbh.

No, I won't put you on ignore, and don't tell me what I should and shouldn't do, you fucking spastic.

For what its worth, my son has a medical condition too, the details of which I won't go into here. The difference between you and me is that I'm not pathetic enough to bring it up in an argument on a football forum.

Looks like the cups then. Twat Utd Sunday and kick on.

Well we've struggled lately because teams have been sitting back and letting us have the ball. The mancs might get cocky and try to attack a bit given the current situation of both teams, and the fact they are at home.

Yeah, there are some convenient explanations for some of this. Covid, no fans, some dead rubbers after the title win, injuries, etc... but it might be time to accept we're just not that good anymore.

I'd already accepted that we weren't as good as a team that gets 97 or 98 points in a season.  I had still hoped that we would be good enough to get 1 more point than the team in second. Obviously, I was wrong.

First person to trot out the "Well maybe this will be the wakeup call the team needs to kick on" cliche gets backheeled in the nuts. Looking at our upcoming fixtures we could be in real trouble by the end of Feb.

We just don't have enough quality outside the first 11. Everything comes back to that.

Massive underfunding from FSG. It's remarkable what Jurgen has achieved all things considered.

But he has bought poorly too and not used transfer windows as often as he should have to wheel and deal.

Thank fuck we managed to win another title and makes the shitshow of this season less painful.

I see this said, but I don't think people at the club would agree. They'd probably point to the depth in midfield and Jota, Minamino and Shaqiri being a backup attack that should be decent enough. I just think it's shown the squad needs some turnover now. After years of some decent continuity in the first 11, when the results dip such as they have, you probably need to start thinking about moving some players on and adding some freshness.

This just feels like an end of a cycle and unfortunately we won't be able to squeeze a title out of the last bit of juice we have with some of these players. Maybe I'm wrong and we'll keep everyone and get people back fit and find a new spark next season, but this feels like a real hole.

That is a bastard of a run.

On current form i could see us getting 4 or 5 pts from that lot.

We have though even in this season of real mediocrity managed to get good results in the 'harder' games - hopefully that can continue.

It is certainly going to be a pivotal period.

Not an end of cycle at all. Most players are still in their prime.

Just need to add a few quality players and get rid of the shite.

Will this happen? Nope. 2 reasons. FSG tight cunts and Klopp is not savage enough in getting rid of players.

    • They’re weird bastards. Just had this text exchange with my mate. Bear in mind I haven’t said a word on what’s gone on this week or said our owners are boss or anything. He sent this in regards to that statement put out by the lads behind the banners on the Kop. I didn’t respond to his final nonsense, because I’m dumbfounded by it.

    • I disagree, because it feels that you are ignoring a huge amount of evidence to the contrary. The fact it all changes in the 80s should give you an idea of why it changed - the world changes in the 80s, it all started in the 70s. The old order was wiped away by the likes of David Sterling, Jimmy Goldsmith et al. But I can't recall a time when clubs - all clubs ownership was with wealthy individuals - the fact that they were not billionaires is not proof of them being custodians - it is proof that the times were different.    The Moores family had a tangible influence on both Everton and Liverpool! How can you say they were 'custodians' in the keeping with the criteria in place in 1899. The financial and economic climate created the environment where they were more custodians - TV and international TV rights were not in place then, so you are comparing apples and pears. For goodness sake we were the first club to have sponsors in the early 80s. The argument that the laws stopped change is disingenuous - the global economy changed football as it has done with everything else! I can remember Souness being interviewed on TV early in the 90s as Liverpool manager and he said we would never charge £20 a game like the Italians and therefore they were always going to be the richer league!    We were owned by the Moores. All that has changed is that now we are owned by FSG.

I think is going to get quite messy for them actually. I notice they seem to have pulled away from that Konate deal, which can only suggest to me they didn't want to/didn't have the funds available to sign him. That was before the £300m windfall they knew that was coming down the line.

At a cultural level they are now very split. I don't think they really know what to do with FSG. You kind of have the scab end of their fanbase, that essentially fine comfortabe with what they did but too scared to voice it (as the politburu have decided it is now a bad thing) you've then got those who are fewming about it all but don't want to launch into a full insurrection against FSG. Finally you've got those who are really angry and want them gone- and tats very mucthe way SOS and Spion Kop are going.

As fanbases go they seem to struggle when they don't all have the same thing to parrot. For a fanbase that is so diverse I'm always surprised they depend upon such singularity on outlook. I think this disunity will hurt them, and it's only likely to get worse in the summer as they have little to spend and the likes of City and Chelsea pull further way.

The curveball in this is if Klopp goes. Then you're at H & G territory.    Like Quote Reply
    • Because he's a two faced cunt, just like martin samuel. Supposedly a dyed in the wool 'ammer's fan, he's so far up city's arse I dont think he could see the London Stadium or whatever it's called, with a telescope.   The cunt, samuel, is even bigging up the Saudi's as better owners than any of the 6 PL clubs. Well yeah, if you entice so called dissidents into an embassy, stick his head in a poly bag so he suffocates slowly then chop him up like a butchered cow in a slaughterhouse, then you'd have to be off the scale myopic to say the Saudi's will be better owners than any of the PL 6!   The fucking lengths the media are going sucking off the other 14 PL clubs is nauseating. Not one has mentioned the duplicity of west ham, villa and brighton amongst clubs who wanted no relegation as a condition for re starting the league last season.   Not one has mentioned the £26m+ of taxpayers money moral high horse fc has sequestrated  for its own purposes. Not one has mentioned Aston Villa FC selling its ground to its owner to try and finance promotion to the PL and circumvent the EFL's finance rules. Not one has mentioned Brighton & Hove Albion forcing a public inquiry and hence use of taxpayer's money regarding the building of the Amex stadium at Falmer.   I could go on but you get my drift. We all know samuel, birt, lowe, wallace and the rest of them would have been scrabbling to get on the plane and enjoy the 'hospitalies' in these foreign stadiums to report on the games involving the 6 if this has actually come about. Fucking hypocrites.
    • Point 1. Rule 34 existed for the majority of Liverpool's existence.    Point 2. This created an environment where owners were more custodians than oligarchs, sovereign states and speculators.    Point 3 . Under the current system owners will and are obligated to make as much money as possible for their investor's.   Point 4. This will always clash with the demands of the supporter unless there is intervention.
