Kraftwerk are the musical equivalent of PS1 3D Graphics. It was the best people had at the time, but you'd have to be mental to put yourself through it now.

So how do explain all the retro gamers? Or people who drive classic cars?

AC/DC - like Status Quo, but without the songs.

Bloody hell. If I knew Quo were in the comp, I’d have voted them all the way to the final. RIP Rick.

This song alone is worth a dozen AC/DC.....and it was after 40 yrs of hits, bro.

Crank it.

Once you've heard one AC/DC track, is there any point in listening to another one? Or would it be enough to just keep listening to the one track on repeat, for forty-something years?

That misses the point of AC/DC.

I know it’s a case of “if it ain’t broke” but they have never pretended to be anything else and play to their strengths.

They are a good time band. Their songs fall into 6 categories...

1) Fucking or variations of it.

2) Rocking out.

3) Fighting.
4) Getting drunk.

5) Doing things fast.

6) A combination of the above.

In a way, Oasis and The Killers had similar traits when they first came out (not really the lyrical content but certainly the great when your drunk) but they decided to change, and not for the better.

For me, they get the blood pumping, they rock hard, they are good to sing along to and are especially good on a night out and / or when your drunk...

... and it never pretends to do anything else.

That's all good. There are a lot of bands like that that I really like.

I wouldn't put any of them in a "world's greatest" competition, though.

I've never been a real fan of either of them, but let's have this right. Kraftwerk were one of the most innovative acts of the 20th century, and inspired not just numerous artists but whole fucking genres like synth pop, hip hop and house music.

AC/DC were a shit Status Quo and the only cunt they ever inspired was Richard Rameriz.
