And working class people lap it up; that's what absolutely infuriates me more than anything.  People turn a blind eye to how they themselves are being fucked over, provided they can always kick downward.

There's a weird culture and class of people in this country now, I don't know if I'd call them middle class, maybe working class done good, and they're the foot soldiers of this cuntery.

Usually have 'executive' in their job title even though it's a relatively low level office job, live in a new build house and drive a car on tick. The worst offenders will put 'BA (hons)' after their name in emails.

They watch channel five shows like Benefits by the Sea and because deep down they know they're a largely unremarkable drone, it gives them a chance to feel self made and aloof.

For all his faults Piers Morgan is taking Hancock to task about this right now. Hancock simply wont answer if he regrets voting against school meals and Piers is hammering it home. he has absolutely taken the cunt apart here. Hancock is one horrible cunt

It's easy to do on telly and it's part of the hard nosed journo image he's trying to cultivate, but you'll find fewer people more enamoured with wealth and celebrity than Morgan, let's not forget he was up Trump's arse until he saw which way the wind was blowing. Morgan wouldn't piss on someone if they were on fire.

He's undoubtedly a massive cunt but while he's taking aim at people like Hancock I'm alright with that.

Who else is hammering these leeches?

He's got a good point, though. I definitely recall a strong message from the doorstep in 2017 of "I like Democratic Socialism, but I need to check what Britain's 20th most famous cook says about Corbyn on Twitter before I can decide who to vote for."

Matt Hancock on GMTV, absolute master of avoiding a question.

Was asked how much his family need to spend on food per month.

"Well unfortunately I haven't had much opportunity to cook or be at home during the last year so I wouldn't know"

"Yes, but on average, even before this, how much would you spend on food a month?"

"I would not know, i would have to go and look those figures up"

Then asked 5 times if he regretted voting against Marcus Rashfords idea to supply families with school meals to which he said "You see that is the power of social media and it sorts things out, I'm glad now that we've managed to resolve it"

Indeed. Stalin and his pals were massive cunts, but I approve of what they finally did to the Nazis (after first pandering to them and paving the way for them - this analogy really works!)

Like some of the laws of physics, market forces stop operating normally at the extremes of poverty. Credit and utility bills and quite a few other products all become more expensive for poor people even though they are 100% generic products. So a poor person buys a washing machine on credit and pays 30% APR, everybody else get one from Currys and pays 0%. Its the same money and the same washing machine, you just pay 30% more because you are poor. The same with electricity and gas, most of us pay monthly and get cheap tariffs, if you are poor you are stuck on a prepayment card and the tariff can be twice as high for exactly the same product. It's very hard for Governments to intervene but its a social phenomena all the same. I think caps on the tariffs charge on prepayment cards could be achieved but interest rates for poor credit scores are difficult to address because the supply of credit dries up and pushes people into the arms of loan sharks. That said, some of the rates are obscene.

I don't have any answers but I think politicians should recognize that at the lower extreme, the market economy doesn't work anymore and actually produces perverse outcomes where 100% generic goods (credit and energy) actually increase in price as you get poorer.

It’s the Terry Pratchett boots theory.

Raise the minimum wage.

Stop allowing tax avoidance/evasion.

Have a nice cup of tea.

Ah, so Great Britain is now governed by social media. While the actual government are busy hoovering up taxpayers money for them and their Eton mates.

Raising the minimum wage wont stop payday loans or prepayment cards for the unemployed.

The minimum wage is shockingly low considering the cost of living now. Just look at rent. 100 percent there should be a genuine living wage. The fucking tories made the term "make work pay" to mean lowering welfare payments instead of actually just making work pay. They rebranded the minimum wage and called it a living wage and to the absolute shame of the media and journalists they went along with it.

Not to brush this away, but they have not said anything yet...

They have however started a huge campaign with, no idea why, The Daily Mail, which is the biggest 'news' web site on the planet.
