I don't know any of these up to now, I know the Saw Doctors bit and that Richard Dunwoody the great jockey was into them so I'll go for them.

Sweet Jane is a great song. Lou Reed did loads of versions better than that one though.

Well he wrote it when he was in the Velvet Underground. First recorded version on Loaded but a few live versions before that. Cowboy Junkies version sounds like one of the earlier slower ones. Lou did rockier versions later and murdered the poor thing numerous times live. 

 

I reckon subconsciously or not he nicked loads of it from this

Nice little cover with a great clarinet (or is it a sax?) solo at the end. Oliver Stone used in the Natural Born Killers but cut it off just before the solo, which is the best part.
