Well we now clearly are in a bit of trouble.

2 pts (and 1 goal) from 3 games against mediocre and shite opposition.

4 wins in 15 away games.

No centre halves.

Creating fuck all.

Players woefully out of form all over park.

Easy to defend against.

Lost ability to play out from back - become slow, disjointed and easy to press.

Look like conceding to most attacks (which teams are increasingly finding easy to launch against us)

 

This is a serious test of Klopp and the coaching staff now and a serious test of the players attitude, desire and will.

 

The clubs ambition to stay at the top by going out and strengthening a squad that is stretched to fuck at centre half (which is really starting to hurt us now) is also very much on the line.

 

Fair to say that this season is now at a cross roads.

A bit better second half. But still nowhere near good enough. And, the bigger picture is that the overall form isn’t great. 

 

Southampton deserve a bit of credit. Only a bit though. They defended fairly well, but that task was made easier by their ability to foul in the box with impunity and with the side game of just grab hold of Mané all the time so that he can't really run anywhere. 

 

I said it in one of the away draw match threads and it needs repeating. I'm more concerned by the forwards than the defence at the moment. They'll likely click again. And Jota coming back in to the squad will help. But they're pretty diabolical at the moment.

We've no chance of putting a great run together unless we sign a first choice CB and can play a fairly settled and close to first choice midfield again.

We started with two midfielders today who have barely played 90 minutes combined in the last three months, and we'll probably try a different combination in the next match, that's no way to get consistent results.

Playing Jota in that dead runner European match was a killer. He was looking dangerous for us even when he didn’t score.

Thank fuck thats out of the way. We turned up for half a game. A One Off shot from Ings prevented another point.

 

If we don’t put 90 minutes effort in, we can’t expect a result. The issue is attitude. Clearly we were capable of a better effort in the 1st half because it was there in the 2nd.

 

We’re missing Jota’s finishing. He was well in form, and I think he had been freshening up Mo, who now is just off his game in the attacking third.

 

This will be an empty season if the lads don’t show a bit of mettle. They don’t seem to give enough of a shit.

True, but our midfield is supposed to create chances, and it's immeasurably weaker with Henderson and Fabinho at CB.

 

I agree on the forwards though, they've been shite. Jota was papering over a few cracks.
