Firmino is the most energetic player on the pitch and everything is going through him.  Absolute madness to consider subbing him.  Jones looks completely lost tonight though.  Would be nice to see Thiago.

This is spot on. Jones looks out of his depth tonight sadly!

Not a very good half that, but improved the last 20 minutes.

Bobby our best player imo, which I’m sure not many agree with. His off the ball movement has been absolutely excellent, and the main reason we have created a few chances.

Fabinho and Robertson also good as always. Sadio on and off.

Disappointed by Salah, Henderson and Trent so far. Trent looks la bit like he thinks he doesnt have to put in too much effort any more, need him to get back to his best.

Nat Phillips is an accident not waiting to happen, seem to happen on a regular basis, so would guess we need a couple of goals to win this.

Agree about Bobby. Some lovely movement. Sadio has been below average for him and Mo have been poor.

A lot of 5 or 6/10 performances but think we nick this late on.

Nat seems like a lovely lad but Jesus Southampton and then the Mancs will be rubbing their hands at taking him on. If we don't sign a centre half we are basically going from slight favourites to win the league to an outsider because by the time Matip is back, we will have dropped numerous points to teams with any kind of pace and then Matip won't be able to stay injury free.

It would be beyond ridiculous not to sign a first-team centre back when the window opens, regardless of the inevitable premium. As much as an extra £10m or so might sting, we’d be considerably more fucked if we were to miss out on the CL, and in a league this tight and with performances as poor as West Brom and tonight, it’s not a possibility that can just be routinely dismissed.

If anyone had any doubt about Nat Phillips, this game should have put that to bed.

Championship level at best. And not the promotion chasing type.

Williams is just as bad. Hope we’ve got someone ready to come in by the weekend
