Any number of Geordie bummings at St James' Park I could refer to, but I'll go back to our 6-0 thrashing of the Toon Army in April 2013, towards the end of Rodgers' first season in charge. We got an early lead through Agger, and were 4-0 up after an hour thanks to further goals from Hendo and 2 from Studge. Hendo got another later on, and even the lesser-spotted Borini got in on the act. It's nice to get one over on Pardew like this.

The UK chart at the time was seeing a new number one practically every week because they were now counting downloads and streaming on top of physical sales. On the same day as this game, 'Waiting All Night' by Rudimental and Ella Eyre topped the charts. Rudimental are one of those acts I've heard of, and I've probably heard a few of their songs but could never name them. This is one of those.

We could certainly do with a much better and more clinical performance that what we put up against West Brom. We could also do without players succumbing to injury in every game. Not just the usual suspects but also the ones who are more durable and reliable physically. We usually do quite well away to Steve Bruce teams, it's an Anfield where we have the sort of game against his teams that we've just had against Fat Sam and his 'masterclass'. Just go out there and hand out the drubbing that we are well capable of. Incidentally, we've already played Newcastle 5 times during the festive schedule. Wednesday's gme will be the sixth. For a fixture scheduler that is supposed to be random, it doesn't half throw up some regularity. Just like derby matches falling on the same weekend allowing Sky to rearrange them for their 'Super Sunday'.

Outcome will be decided by which version of Liverpool turn up for the match.

If it’s the hungry, energetic one we saw steamroll Arsenal, Spurs, Wolves and Leicester, we’ll win.

If it’s the characterless, pedestrian version we saw against Fulham, Villa and for the majoritet of the games against Brighton and WBA, then it could go either way.

That united result is the only motivation we need for this tomorrow. How that shower of useless cunts are only 2 behind us is infuriating

Because we've been shite more often than not since the league resumed.

Any decent team would have been well out of sight by now.  Thankfully there is none in this pathetic league.
