Neco Williams did much better by simply not diving in, kept his cool and stood them up when one on one, improved his attacking play as well, Curtis Jones revelled in the space Ajax left open as they attacked too, took his goal brilliantly, would have been easy for him to have given the cross up and expect the keeper to have got it, so his anticipation was superb, Kelleher was excellent, dealt with everything that was put at him and was very tidy with his feet too. Will have done him the world of good. As for the others, Fabinho, Matip and Robbo were all very good, Hendo and Gini too, but the front three that started look like they need a rest because they were pretty gash when it mattered really, although they weren’t given brilliant service, there were enough chances for them to have buried the game earlier. So a free hit next week, and a much needed rest for the players. Maybe Jurgen will calm down a bit after this!

Excellent today, starting with Klopp.

So pleased for Neco, and Curtis is growing into a man with each and every game.

Gini and Hendo are the big boys in the middle, and those 2 centre halves are as good as anything you'll see in Europe.

With them in the side, it becomes much easier for the youngsters to show up. They've been thrown in at the deep end much earlier than expected, and you can see what the experienced lads (coupled with the coaching and confidence that Klopp brings) does for them.

With Kelleher its all about how he recovers from whatever errors he'll experience. Has some quality attributes clearly.

On another note, some of the comments on Mo leave me baffled really. He was a constant menace with his directness and clever runs. Plus, he never hides and works his hairy bollocks off every fucking time. He also created 2 or 3 clear chances for the others with some sharp passing.

You'll all miss him when he's gone.

I really, really like Curtis Jones. Fortunate with his goal tonight but Fowler, McManaman, Gerrard, even Trent, never came into a side anywhere near as good as this one. He’s got machismo.

I have to admit, even last season, Neco hasn’t convinced me & I fully get its hard coming in for Trent, he did well tonight. Did enough with a block on Nerves a minute or so before the assist.

Much MUCH better performance than the Atalanta game. We actually created chances for one thing!

We've won the group and can rest a whole load of players for the dead rubber in Denmark. Midgetland are already eliminated so have nothing riding on the game either.

Ajax were neat and tidy but lack a real attacking punch. They played like a team that expected opening of the sort they always get in the Eredivisie, but we basically held them at bay.

The young lads in the team acquitted themselves well tonight. Quiveen was solid and dependable all night, and made saves he needed to make with the minimum of fuss. Neco looked a lot better than in recent games. I still don't know how he had a foul given against him in that second half because he'd done nothing wrong there in winning the initial ball. He's the one who got taken out right after that. Curtis looked composed and confident all night. A tame sighter followed by an excellent effort that smashed off the post were our best openings of the first half. He took his goal extremely well considering no-one would have expected Onana to flap the way he did.

Where we were (slightly) iffy was up front. All three made decent runs and looked threatening but there were an awful lot of heavy first touches, overrunning the ball in good positions, and missed opportunities to link up. The link-up aspect improved quite a lot when Bobby came on.

We just lacked the goals our overall display merited, but at least we've done the main bit.

No we have a bit of a breather for what feels like ages. A chance for players to come back and hopefully (come on ye gods of fate!) no more being forced to drop out. We need the numbers!

3 points, a clean sheet and qualification gauranteed. Overall not a very accomplished display. If Bobby had of played as poorly as Mo and Sadio, he'd have been slaughtered.

Love Mo but he needs to get his head out of his arse and pass the fucking ball. Sadio was as bad.

That ref was fucking shit, as well. Gave Ajax loads and just gave us yellow cards.

We go again.
