Lungs by Townes Van Zandt used brilliantly in True Detective.

"Waitin' Around To Die" also by Townes Van Zandt.

One of the greatest songs ever committed to tape.

The story behind it is beautiful.

He'd just bought a house and moved in with his wife, literally the day they moved in he wrote it and decided this wasn't for him and sunk in to depression and drinking. He's an increibly complex character, the soul of a poet who always needed to physically fight because of where he ws from, that's going to fuck a soul up.

He then just fucked off and started to wander, eventually living, randomly, in Stockport for a while amongst a lot of other places.

Townes is one of the genuine greats.

There's an amazing doc from years back about him which is brilliant.

Townes is an absolute genius, the "live at the old quarter" album is one of my all time favourites.

Terry by Twnkle was actually banned for being too depressing and encouraging suicide.

Crying by the Big O is worth a shout.

We'd need to pay him to pick the songs. I'll get a GoFundMe going if there's enough interest.

I'm dreading him booting the hinges off this particular door to be honest
