Houston had a great voice. I just didn't like most of her songs.

No doubt about this Carole King, Houston did have a good voice but again I wouldn't buy anything by her, just songs you could easily forget as I have now. 

King can sing OK, she can play the piano, write unforgettable songs, Tin Pan Alley and the Brill building? 

That video of her doing the superb One Fine Day in 1980 I think is great plus The Chiffons do it great too. 

She really does have to go far if not all the way. So there.

Tapestry by Carole King is one of the great albums. Every song a testament to her song writing talent.

 

Whitney Houston certainly has the better voice but Carole King is the greater overall female artist in this round.

If you can put together a great recipe, but cant cook the meal, no one will visit your restaurant.
