Not heard much of Vega so I'll vote for Armatrading as she's done some decent tracks, also Cook Da Books toured the USA with her and one of them said she was sound.

This is a tough one. The Queen and The Soldier or Woncha Come On Home - two of my favourite songs.

Suzanne Vega, one of my favourite artists ever.  Should get extra votes for two songs with Liverpool connections (Gypsy and In Liverpool)

Everyone knows Luca, Tom's Diner, probably Marlene on the Wall and they're all good songs, but look up Cracking and Ironbound. Gah, and loads of others, too many to mention, she's fantastic.

And a brilliant, warm, funny live performer.
