Just seen that, wasn't sure, thought it would of been on the Deathpool thread.

Sad news, one of the best, if not the best. A couple of times I've asked an ex pro footballer that question and both said Maradona.

Great player and as someone mentioned he didn't do himself any favours off the pitch, and yes will be missed.

Argentina and Napolo will be mourning.

Jimmy Magee's commentary on his famous goal against England - no, the other one - is the greatest tribute to anyone ever:

I was 13 when that goal went in. Magee’s commentary has always stuck with me. That perfect goal with the perfect commentary of “less is more”. A sad day.

Strongly considering getting hold of then laying out a massive meandering line of coke round my flat in his honour, to replicate the full run he made when scoring his other goal against England.

Will perform my own commentary while running round the flat polishing it off, seeing Peter Reid in my mind’s eye, doggedly chasing me up the hallway but never quite managing to get the straw out of my nostril.

Fuck sake man. Not Diego.

A fitting tribute, hopefully you can speak at the funeral.

Souness on Maradona..... “Napoli were willing to let Maradona go for a song, because his problems with drugs and alcohol were well documented. So I sent wee Pat Duff to Italy with a contract and told him not to come back without Maradona’s signature. Three days later, Pat arrives at Anfield with two black eyes and a swollen nose. It turned out Maradona had accused Pat of stealing an ounce of coke from the glove compartment of his car, and nutted him through a plate glass window. But that was nothing compared to the nutting I gave Pat for coming back without the signature, believe me. If his nose wasn’t broken when he arrived back, it most certainly was after. Of course, you wouldn’t get away with nutting employees willy-nilly these days. It was a different time.”
