El Diego, gone?

The Hand of God 30 years on was shown last night on ITV.

Butcher, Sansom, Hoddle, Shilton, Hodge and Lineker on it. Hoddle and Lineker were ok and have let it go but the other three are still bitter as fuck about it, Hodge was ok. They also come across as proper Ingerland fans. Lineker asked if anyone watched the final and Butcher said "West Germany V the Argies, that's as bad as it can get for an Englishman". Butcher also mentioned the drugs test after the game saying he made sure Maradona admitted to the handball because he would have killed him otherwise.

Shilton moaning that Steve Hodge swooped shirts with him and should have punched him instead. Gabriel Clarke said "That shirt is worth 300 grand you know" and Shilton had a face on.

Probably be a lot more now!

Danny Kelly was saying he hosted a nightly 2002 World Cup show on the BBC, and Hodge was a guest. Hodge turned up with the shirt in a Tesco carrier bag, apparently having no clue of its value. Kelly sent someone out to buy a flight case for it.

Another thing I love about Diego he has literally no affiliation with Barcelona even though he was there for two seasons. I’ve not heard a peep from those more than a club cunts.

In his book he said he was more Real Madrid. Definitely going out of his way to stick it to them!

One of the great German players (Breitner?) invited him and Schuster to his testimonial and Barca wouldn't let them go ao they smashed up the boardroom.

Think he hates the fuckers.

Maradona’s every touch in the 1986 World Cup. It’s remarkable stuff.

he had absolutely everything, pace, skill, intelligence, could track back ride a challenge and just got on with it despite getting thr shit kicked out of him. All while been on it as well.

Simply the hreatest player to ever live. Imagine how good he would be today with thr sports science and the way players are looked after these days.

A lot of collective amnesia around England's braveheart cloggers booting Maradona around the place during the first half of that quarter final.

Watched a video the other day of all the snide challenges England's players did on Maradona in that game. "Booting" is generous. Elbows, shoulders and knees were used too. But, it's not cheating to try and physically diminish your opponents star player by way of thuggery...

Wow what a video. I found myself getting angry at them no mark cunts from Korea. They could have ended everything before it happened and they had more right being on the pitch as him.

Watched the documentary again just then on Ch4. It really is fantastic.

Just feel really sad now though. He was no angel like, but some of the shit he had to deal with when he was in Italy is like nothing any footballer before or since ever had to endure.

Ah, the old “no angel” chestnut, the go to euphemism used  throughout the ages for people trying to justify the actions of  a steaming psycho, see also “he had his problems”

Var has since checked back on his equal equaliser against Italy. The lace from his puma Kings where offside.

All joking aside, I've just watched 5 minutes and his touch, control and balance are other worldly.

And another note, the celebration for a goal. You can forget about that now. Var has taken that away. Fucking wankers
