Hahaha she's just been posted.

Can't believe Sheryl Crow and Alanis didn't get a shout. See @SasaS this is what happens when I try and do it democratically. We end up with cunts.

it's the electoral system that favours populism and radicalism, and uproots the center.

As every dull middle aged pedant like me knows, none of the situations described in that song were actually ironic. Rain on your wedding day is just weather. Irony is the most misused word in the english language.

To be fair to Alanis, she recognized this and I read a recent interview where she  says its the one thing that everybody feels the need to point out when they first meet her. That and everybody asking which ex boyfriend "you oughta know" was written about. She comes across as a very grounded decent person, I like her. Its an outrage she's not in this competition.

She got her bush out for a music video as well.

She’s brilliant. I was just listening to her acoustic Jagged Little Pill album. It’s great. You Learn is brilliant. Uninvited is also a great track from the City of Angels soundtrack.

And yes, everyone knows about the irony of Ironic not being ironic.

Rooms on Fire by Stevie Nicks is better than anything Madonna has done. Madonna's high record sales have a lot to with her not being afraid to get her kit off for various types of projects, videos, films and whatever. While that's not a particularly bad thing it helped cover up how poor a singing voice she has. Her showmanship or showomanship, precedes her musical ability.

I Know they are. I don’t usually bother posting the titles but felt like doing so tonight.

Ha ha. I have this one.

Also, it frustrates me more than it should when videos disappear and there's no clue to what it was.  Posting the title is the right thing to do.

How much Madonna stuff do you know?

Granted her voice is not the best, though Stevie Nicks' voice is very Marmite and not to everyone's liking (I love her), but to doubt Madonna's musical ability is folly.

Go and look up reviews for the Like A Prayer album, far from my favourite and the style perhaps not to your personal taste, but it's widely considered an all time great pop album.

I feel the women are being judged more on their voice.  The men's final was between Bowie and Dylan, nowhere near great singers.  The Stones won the British band tournament yet Mick Jagger's voice is rather unconventional, putting it politely.
