I'm not sure horseradish sauce gets enough love.

My brother was 35 before he tried it with a joint of beef.  Instantly he wondered what the fuck had happened.  Why no adverts on TV for it?  Why the small jar in the shop?  Why isn't it in pre made supermarket beef sandwiches? You start to wonder if it's even legal. Who is behind this subversive campaign?

I'm a hypocritical fucker. I hammer people for putting mint sauce on a roast then smother mine in horseradish.

This stuff is so nice that its almost inedible if that makes sense.

Perhaps the most limited sauce there is - only useable on fried fish. Putting your chips in it is akin to using mayonnaise. Which is undeniably scruff behavior.

Two that need mentioning - Hollandaise and Bearnaise.

It’s superb on fish in batter or breadcrumbs, though. I won’t touch mayonnaise, but those little pieces of chopped gherkin make a world of difference.

Been going through this from the Amazon Sauce shop since Christmas. Stuffing Sauce 'Ketchup' (it's not ketchup)

Sounds awful but it's actually ace to accompany a Roast Dinner, either normal or vegetarian. Thick and full of flavour and less than £3 via Amazon Prime, of all places.

Also, the Sauce Shop Red Sauce/Ketchup is ace too.

At the last count i had 24 sauces in the top shelf of the fridge. Exceptional.

Don't get started about what belongs in the fridge and what doesn't.  Anything that is either pourable or spreadable (apart than vinegar and soy) goes in the fridge.

Encona Carolina Reaper Chilli 142Ml

This is actually quite nice, not that hot as it's so diluted by tomato paste.  But that's for the best.  Still has good heat behind it, just not in a painful way.

That's one of the 24. It's really nice but can get a bit "cloggy" towards the end of a bottle.

So you're saying its a sauce specially designed for one purpose that is brilliant at that purpose.

To steal from small soldiers, Tartar Elite - anything else is just a sauce.
