Yes you do. My mate suffered the exact same injury (ruptured patella) playing street ball in New York day before his wedding, and no one touched him. It happened in Aug last year and he still can’t run.

Did he at least get out of the wedding?

They should have just stopped international footy until calendar could normalise.

The players are very expensivsely accquired employess of the clubs and very highly paid employees of the clubs.....the load on them from their employers is bad enough, adding more to it for internationals is taking piss.

European nations have added in a fucking friendly in this and last break - meaning 3 games in a week.

I know Scotland have an actual play off, so that is different, but even that shows how stupid the schedule is as it is smack bang in middle of their nations cup lark...and you can bet life they'd play a friendly if not involved in play off.

Breaks were always 2 games....3 is just madness.

With the covid travel lark i'd even go as far as maybe leaving out european cup/europa league until calendar normalises, scrap the Euro Championships lark in Summer too.

They reduced the european club comps to a farce anyway last year from last 8 on and it'll probably happen again....

Plus as Klopp said clubs have no power with internationals over protocol when their players are off to fucking here there and everywhere for the week...and possibly into less well run environments.

Whole shambles is greed driven and it just pushes us as fans further away from game we loved.

Scotland play Thurs, Sun, Weds....

Fucking ridiculous - and Robbo will play all 3 nailed on.

And two of those are Nations League which should have been well fucked off and one of which is in Slovakia and then the other Israel

It’s a disgrace the way Uefa can just flog players all over Europe irrespective of Covid risks just to fill their coffers

It is absolutely ridiculous.

This nations cup lark was set up deliberately by UEFA to try and 'fight' the clubs power....and then on top of it the greedy national associations go and throw a friendly on top.

Spanish keeper canizares injured himself at home. Injuries can happen anywhere!

Cañizares' club form ensured himself as first-choice international in the 2002 World Cup, but he missed out on the tournament due to an accident with an aftershave bottle, which resulted in a severed tendon in his foot

can actually see Matip pulling that off

You’d be surprised how dangerous aftershave can be

Toni knows....

Toni Kroos: "We are just puppets in the hands of FIFA and UEFA.
These competitions are created just to suck everything out of every single player physically and to suck out as much money as possible"

Toni Kroos makes a couple of hundred thousand every week, mainly facilitated by TV money. He's entitled to moan but its a 2 way street. My issue is with Southgate, forget about Gomez, he's dispensable for England. But they aren't winning the euros without Kane, Henderson, Trent, Rashford and Sterling, a 2 week break for them would have more benefit to England in the summer than playing them now.

He could field a good side from players not playing in Europe while his main players rest up. Everyone I mentioned above is getting injured at some stage, its literally pot luck for him when that happens and how badly they are injured.
