Gomez Injured

im going to go against the grain here regarding the whole England duty and Gomez subsequent injury.

That tendon was going to go, it just so happened it went when he was away with England, as opposed to training in Melwood/Kirby.

But similar to everyone else, there's no two ways about it now, we badly need another centre half, if not 2 in january.

the past 2 years with both Virgil and Gomez at the centre half, we had arguably the quickest pair of centre halves in the league, if not world football. Now we're pinning all our hopes on kids and centre midfielders....Thats like giving Lewis Hamilton my citroen dispatch and expecting him to continue his winninf streak, its not possible.

Of course it could’ve gone at any time, but it’s the amount of football being played that has meant this happened.

cant see the point in international friendlies any time, which is what the nations league is, however you dress it up, but to also have an actual friendly in there too is madness.

I think it would’ve made sense for all international managers to have opted to not pick players firm teams playing in Europe for this round of games, given the number of games those lads have played so far this season.

Oh please, fuckraroff.

After being assessed by specialist doctors on Wednesday, Gomez was given some hope when he was told his season is not necessarily over - news which will give him belief he may still be able to play for England in next summer's Euros.

Great to hear he might still be able to play for England this summer. Perked me up no end that.

Southgate saying that his injury was inevitable as a result of fixture congestion.

Now he’s either blaming us for playing him (you know his actual employers) or he’s thicker than a whale omelette by picking him and getting him down training straight after Sunday’s game

apart from scrapping international football the very least the waistcoat wearing bell whiff should’ve done was let all the players who played in Europe mid week have a rest in this international round.

Let the Mid table fodder supply the ingurland team for now, especially this congested season.

Fuckin hate internationals

I don’t think Southgoat has done anything wrong. IMO, he seemed genuinely gutted for Gomez.

If the injury was Tuesday, I’d assume it would still have been a recovery session it happened in.

Unlike muscle injuries, this doesn’t strike me as something related to the hectic schedule. Fabinho & Trent could be blamed on the schedule, Virg, Thiago, Alisson & this, can’t be.

I know it’s fucking shit & we’re all massively frustrated about it, but unfortunately, it’s one of these things. It’s done now, gotta look forward.

The only thing is if he'd been withdrawn from the England squad to protect the LFC squad, all of our players not on international duty this week got the week off. So he'd have got complete rest and wouldn't have trained. Perhaps it would have gone in the end. The lad has no history of staying fit, but the inevitable may have at least been delayed. Although it's probably better for LFC he gets the injury this side from the transfer window and not on Feb 1.

People still criticising Jurgen for only having 3 senior CB's and wanting Degsy fucked off out the club because he was shite? We could just as easily seen Mo, Sadio or Bobby crippled by that cunt pickford then find the other two get nobbled playing meaningless friendlies.

The football schedule is ridiculous this season and even more so when you considered how the last one was hectic from the re start. Clubs are only allowed 25 players for the PL of which at least 7 or 8 is it have to be 'homegrown.' And the rules are different again for the CL so we're not going to have 4 class CB's no matter what people may want to think.

Shit happens and we're getting the shitty end of the stick right now.

Have we any voodoo priests on here? Surely we can rustle up a spell or 2 to stop our players getting fucked or at least to even the odds by striking down our nearest rivals players.

Maybe we could get trumps spiritual advisor, Paula White to summon some of her angelic forces to assuage our fears!

When Lewis Hamilton won his first WC, I was in the happy position of not knowing who Nicole Scherzinger (sp?) was. Given that she was celebrating with him I thought she was his (admittedly well preserved) mum.
