Toni Kroos makes a couple of hundred thousand every week, mainly facilitated by TV money. He's entitled to moan but its a 2 way street. My issue is with Southgate, forget about Gomez, he's dispensable for England. But they aren't winning the euros without Kane, Henderson, Trent, Rashford and Sterling, a 2 week break for them would have more benefit to England in the summer than playing them now.

He could field a good side from players not playing in Europe while his main players rest up. Everyone I mentioned above is getting injured at some stage, its literally pot luck for him when that happens and how badly they are injured.

Kane and Henderson are almost nailed on. The miss loads of football those two.

Matip to follow soon surely and we'll literally have lost our entire first team defence. Outrarageous.

Clever use of bold to emphasise the poi

Getting way beyond believable this injury shit, especially with totally meaningless friendlies causing problems as well.

It’s starting to get to a point where a top four place will be a real achievement, never mind retaining the league.

Can Origi play centre back?

Nah, it sounds like it could have gone at any time.  He could have been at Kirkby, just so happens he was away training.

Gomez has the Ledley King vibe.

Ok, who do we buy in Jan?  I love it.

Bad news. Need to look at unloading Gomez and Matip in the next season or so, easier said than done I know.

Why get rid of Matip when he cost nothing, and doesn't play internationally? Gomez on the other hand. Problem with Gomez,as I've said before,is that by playing for England(a low bar by our standards, but not by idiots in the media) he is constantly told how great he is but at Liverpool he is training with much better players and his standards need to be higher than at national level. In training he is also up against Salah,Mane,Firmino et al and he hardly ever faces players like that internationally. And when England do,friendlies not considered, they often end badly.

Liverpool Football Club can confirm Joe Gomez has today undergone successful surgery to repair a tendon in his left knee.

The centre-back sustained the injury during a training session with the England national team on Wednesday.

The issue was isolated to Gomez’s tendon, with no damage to any other associated knee ligaments.

The operation to correct the damage, which took place in London on Thursday morning, was a success and the 23-year-old will make a full recovery.

Gomez will begin a rehabilitation programme with the Reds’ medical team immediately, with club staff carefully monitoring his progress.

No timescale is being placed upon his return, though the issue is likely to rule him out for a significant part of the remainder of 2020-21.

It's a nightmare at the moment. Losing TAA makes this harder to take. At least with Gomez and VVD out we could simply emphasise more on the attacking side, get as many goals as possible knowing we'd concede a few. A gung-ho approach would be fine for us since with our attack we could out-score anybody no matter how shit our defence is. But without TAA and the quality he brings to our attacking game, we have nobody that can replace what he offers.

Thank fuck it's not another ACL but we can still basically write him off for the season at this point given we're looking to challenge again for the title.

Absolute cunts luck to go into a season with 3 centre backs and lose two of them to long-term injury.

No fucking about now. Buy in January.

Obviously I am not a medical expert but I am hoping that them saying it was a specific tendon that was affected with no ligament damage is a bit positive.

Yeah thankfully, not putting a time on recovery seems to be standard now for us, probably so they don't feel under pressure to bail us out as the season gets more intense towards the end.
