Carole King. Not only sang them, she wrote them.

Julie Covington

Edith Piaf

Kate Bush

Bessie Smith

Cilla Black. Cow of a woman but she could sing

Shit.

7 just isn't enough.

Can't understand Bjork as a vocalist. She makes Yoko Ono sound melodious.

Could not agree more, could not listen to Bjørk more than 10 seconds before turning it off.

Cilla Black could sing? Like nails on a blackboard.

Bollocks that about Bjork.

And I completely forgot about adding Bjork to my 7.

I’d have Liz Fraser right up there close to the final for this, I absolutely love/adore her voice, could just be my favourite female vocalist of all time.

But she’s regrettably not a solo artist.

Was in band, makes guest appearances on other peoples records but no solo albums.

Wish she’d do more though. Could listen to her voice all day.
