Greatest Female Solo Artist - Poll

Oh, and my list, since you mention it, seems pretty mainstream to me. Natacha Atlas may be the most exotic solo artist on it, but she did several albums with Transglobal Underground so few people may know her from there. The rest are either country legends or pretty well established artists, KD Lang, Cesaria Evora. It's not like I put Amira Medunjanin or Esma Redžepova in it.

Cheers.

To mourn the fact people don't think Loretta Lynn deserves to be in the 64, posting this from when Loretta briefly joined The White Stripes.  Van Lear Rose album was as good as it gets, for me.

Sadly this wonderful voice won't be competing ...

Yep   that girl could sing alright, I like the intro.

No need for twerking and a silly dance video etc, a talent

More famous as a backup singer methinks.

I know but she had a vote & didn't make it into that big list of artists with one vote...

Did she? I re-checked my first list and she wasn't on it. Who voted for her?

Me, on page one.

It's ok, these things clearly take a fair bit of organising & the odd singer is bound to slip through the cracks. I was just wondering where she was.

No Pink?

Thats actually hilarious when you look at some of those who are in.

«Recognized for her distinctive, raspy voice and acrobatic stage presence,[1][2] Pink has sold 90 million records worldwide as of 2020,[citation needed] making her one of the world's best-selling music artists.[3] Her career accolades include three Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award and seven MTV Video Music Awards, including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. In 2009, Billboardnamed Pink the Pop Songs Artist of the Decade. Pink was also the second most-played female solo artist in the United Kingdom during the 2000s decade, behind only Madonna. VH1 ranked her number 10 on their list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music, while Billboard awarded her the Woman of the Year award in 2013. At the 63rd annual BMI Pop Awards, she received the BMI President's Award for "her outstanding achievement in songwriting and global impact on pop culture and the entertainment industry.»

Who would have thought that Michael Jacksons greatest achievement in life was selling as many records as you've had accounts on here

    • If i was them and got a offer of 100ml for Kane id snap City hand off. Kane ankles are fucked. They could nab Calvert Lewin and still have money for another midfielder
    • Yes, because no-one knows about Kane's qualities, and are aggressively monitoring him at the Euros to see what the fuss is all about.   There is no chance in hell his "best days are behind him"
    • The reason Spurs have not approached Rafa, I reckon, is because of his outspoken character, not afraid to voice his displeasure at the owners, whether about money or other political matters within the club.   Levy took a huge chance on hiring Mourinho with the prospect of him winning one of the cups to tide them over. But it became so toxic and unworkable that just days before they were about to play the final, he pulled the trigger, as it would likely have locked Mourinho in further, along with a potential trophy bonus, so it was probably the lesser of two evils as he saw it. Added to that was the failure to get a top 4 place, which would have been a higher priority than either of the domestic cups.   Now they have to walk a very tight line between somebody compliant and the ability to get them to the CL which they absolutely need given the massive debt they have to pay off for their stadium. Rafa would certainly be their best bet on the latter, but would the former be a price they're willing to pay?
    • Thats makes sense for Real Bring him back for free sell Isco/Assensio to free wages and fee and sell Rodriguez a year later
    • It wouldn't be a shock if he was allowed a free if ancelotti left.
