Apparently, R. Williams and Thiago were set to start until the last minute and then they changed their minds.

I don't think there's much difference between Rhys Williams and Phillips, truth be told. And Phillips isn't registered for the CL, hence Williams is being saved for the mid-week game, probably.

 

Actually, Phillips has played in the Bundesliga 2, so he's got some experience at a higher level than Williams as well. Neither is good enough for us, nor likely to become so, but in this situation it's probably one of needs must.

I’m not a fan either but it’s another body who could be thrown on to give another guy a breather even if it’s for 30 minutes during this mad schedule .
