Forgive my ignorance but have the states who have declared counted the postal votes? My understanding was that would take days.

I can and also can’t believe this is that close.

In some states, yes, in others, no.

Different laws for different states.

Pennsylvania likely to take until Friday to count mail ballots, with estimates the 75% will be Democrat. There are reportedly 2.5 million postal ballots.

Be honest, it tends not to make much difference (if any) to any of our personal lives who becomes the president of America. So why all hoopla?

You think that but then look at who is the prime minister in the UK.  We follow US trends and the further right they swing the further right the western world goes.  The US is where Facebook and Twitter etc are owned and (un)controlled.  With a more left leaning party in charge you would think they would try to stop them influencing elections.  It effects the whole world really.

The other side of it is the democrats generally seem to play the same game as Labour do over here.  Appease the right wing tendencies in people instead of actually offering them a reason to vote.  Biden is a corrupt fucker himself and the reality is he wouldn’t have changed a lot.  He wasn’t offering healthcare or restricting big business etc.  Similar to Obama he would have had the liberal press treating him like a god without him actually doing a lot and it pisses a lot of people off and causes them to vote for lunatics like Trump.

I don’t get this view. It impacts the whole planet;

climate change is going to be massively impacted by trump winning as he and his cronies just don’t care / believe in it.

The US is also a huge economy and any issues they have are felt globally and with Trump it’s highly volatile and add to that trumps hostility to the EU will give the likes of Boris further confidence in pursuing his no deal Brexit as he can sell our country to the US corporations in an effort to build some kind of deal there instead.

It also sets a precedent on what other leaders can and will try and get away with with regards to discrediting journalists and pushing an anti truth agenda.

finally global security - a lack of cooperation and stability between the western nations will give a free hand to allow the likes of the Russians (Ukraine), Turkish (Armenia, Kurdistan) and the Chinese (Uighers) to do what ever they like without fear of repercussions.

Biden wouldn’t fix all those problems but he’d be a lot more stable, amenable and conciliatory to help build a consensus to dealing with some of these challenges he seems to be open to dealing with climate change, isn’t as volatile for the economy, seems supportive of the EU, would give other nations pause for thought on doing whatever they want.

this election is a pivotal moment in history that we will all feel the repercussions of for decades.

Wouldn't get too worried yet, they were talking about this weeks ago, the red mirage. They said it might even appear as though he actually wins on the night and then the picture would change in the following days.

That’s a worry though as he will challenge any change in result and his mental

supporters will be jumping up and down.

it only takes one person to do some heinous shit in the name of trump.
