Is there such a thing as a good Rapper? What's the difference between one doing rhyming words that a child can do, mo, yo, ho, to another, that they talk about, not sing, maybe it's about the dickhead hand signs or the idiotic videos about whatever they're blabbering on about.

I know some might like it, but I feel incensed at the mere sight of the cunts, sorry a load of cack, no I'm not sorry its a load of shite.

I've just risen and have a sore head, so please excuse my displeasure.

I must say, there’s nothing at all risibly tedious about a complete know-nothing dismissing an entire genre to someone who obviously likes it simply because it’s their opinion. Thank you so much for sharing your hot take on hip hop. If only it hadn’t been trotted out by legions of inane dullards for literally decades now, we might be able to find a few new middle aged white men who were stirred by it.

I've just read a steaming pile of needlessly confrontational shite on the internet, so please excuse my displeasure.

No, I've nothing against rap & used to listen to it a fair bit as a kid. I think Chuck D & some of the guys in the Wu Tang Clan are good rappers (just some examples), I do not think Jay Z is a good rapper, not even close. As I said though, he seems to appeal to the masses & gets to rattle Beyonce so hats off to the cunt.

Fair enough. By most definitions though, (lyricism, versatility, tone, flow) he’s both critically and in terms of peer opinion, one of the best ever. Leaving aside success and profile, pretty much anyone immersed in hip hop places him right up there as an MC.

What I do wonder with those voting for the rappers in these threads. How many dismissed Elvis for not writing his lyrics are happy to vote for rappers that stole most of the licks and basslines there music is based on?

So it's bad that Elvis just sings, plays instruments and arranges but OK when a rapper writes, sings and arranges but steals from other musicians the actual music
