Has Elvis ever actually written a decent song? Can he actually play an instrument to a decent level? Hes up there as one of the greatest karaoke singers of all time, but this competition is about the best solo artist...

Let's hope we don't do a Best Visual Artist tournament, it'll probably go to someone with a paint-by-numbers kit.

Negged. Referring to Elvis Presley as a “karaoke singer” is crazy.

What they both did was take musical influences from a previous era and 'repackage' them. They both had a stage presence. They both had a style and moves that have become synonymous with them. There's a reason why they are referred to as the King of Rock 'n' Roll and the King of Pop respectively.

What Jackson did was have a much larger involvement with the production side. With the advent of the music video, he also harnessed that to boost the appeal of his records. Presley couldn't have done that in his era anyway because it simply wasn't a thing back then.

He played the bass for you're so square(Baby I don't care), played rhythm guitar early in his career.

He played piano on 14 of his recordings.

Elvis might not have written the lyrics but to try and push that as he's a good Karaoke is fucking the height of stupidity.

The man was heavily involved the arrangement of his songs. Just look at the differencences in the originals he sang. You can knock him for not writing them, but then MJ was barely proficient on any instrument

it's actually about the greatest, not the best.

Before you even get to Thriller and the 80s video era, Off The Wall is one of the greatest albums of all time.

I like Elvis and to call him karaoke is a bit silly, but Jackson is far above him for me.

MJ wrote or co-wrote 3 songs on Off The Wall. Betty Boo wrote or co-wrote every song on Boomania.

For anyone else thinking of voting for Jackson, just remember Code voted for him too. Do you really want that on your conscience?

I voted Jackson, he was 4 behind at the time and the vote felt close to pointless. If he was 5 behind I definitely would have voted Elvis to annoy Code.
